A Hero

Chapter 5

Shoto was walking towards the hospital his mother used to stay in.
"Are you Shoto Todoroki?" A nurse asked.
"Yes...I am" he replied.
"You must be here to visit your mom..." the nurse said laughing nervously.
"I already know what happened...I just wanna know who did it" Shoto replied coldly.
"We still don't know who unfortunately but my guess is that the person must know her and she must know him. Why would anyone kill a random person for no reason?"
"It's possible...you guys have security cameras don't you? We can see what exactly happened" Shoto suggested.

The hospital doors opened, Shoto turned around and was shocked to see Midoriya, Iida, Uraraka, Kirishima and Yaoyorozu.
"What are you guys doing here?" He asked.
"We came to make sure you weren't gonna do anything crazy" Kirishima responded.
"We also came because we were worried...all of us are" Yaoyorozu added, the others agreed.
"Guys...I'm okay...I just wanna know who did it and why" Shoto responded.
"Is there anything we can do to help?" Midoriya asked.
"You and your friends can go ahead to the security camera room, my name is Irey and here's the key" Irey said handing the key to Shoto.
"Thank you" He replied.
"We checked the cameras but the man had his face covered and we couldn't really identify who it was because the footage has been deleted, I wish you guys luck" Irey said before leaving.
Shoto, followed by his classmates proceeded walking towards the security camera room. He unlocked the door and opened it. Shoto walked towards the computer and looked for the camera that was near his mothers room. He found it instantly but hesitated to press 'play' since it was paused when his mother was outside of the room.
"Hey man, you okay?" Kirishima asked putting his hand on his shoulder.
"Yeah..." Shoto replied staring at the computer screen, he clicked 'play' and watched the tragic event. Kirihsima kept his hand on his shoulder as he tried to comfort him.

The scream before she collapsed to the floor made it hard to watch, Shoto slammed the desk and sobbed quietly. Yaoyorozu rubbed his back as they replayed the event without sound hoping to get a glance at his face. They assumed to be male, he was tall and had a male body structure.
"There!" Midoriya yelled as he paused the video, Shoto stood up to get a closer look at the guy.
"Do you have a clue on who he might be?"
Uraraka asked.
"None..." Shoto replied sitting back down, he cursed under his breath before wiping the tears away.
"Irey was right...you can't go more ahead or backwards, the footage must have been deleted somehow" Iida said staring at the computer screen.
"Todoroki-Kun, who else visits your mother? The guy only killed her, he specifically chose the right time and knew the room number" Midoriya said.
"Me and my siblings, no one else" Shoto replied.
"What...?"
"Uraraka? What's wrong" Iida asked.
"At the end of the video! In the bottom left corner, look!" Uraraka said pointing at the screen. Shoto looked at the screen "A warp gate?" he asked.
"That's what it looks like to me" Kirishima stated.
"It looks like the warp villain! The league might be involved in this" Midoriya exclaimed.
"If the league of villains is involved then who among them did it?" Yaoyorozu questioned.

The room went silent until the door burst open.
"Guys! You have to come see this!" Irey yelled. Shoto and the rest gave confused looks before proceeding to follow Irey.
"What's this all about?" Midoriya asked.
"I can't really explain this...you'll just have to see" she replied.
After minutes of walking, they reached a room with a bed and a body bag. Everyone froze at the doorway, the rest of the group stayed at the doorway besides Shoto. "Todoroki...you have to see this" Irey said before opening the body bag.

Nothing. There was nothing inside besides this  mud-like substance.

"We put her body here..."
"What the hell is this stuff? Where's the body?" Shoto questioned while touching the weird substance.
"That's the problem...it's gone...just now the doctors said that her body liquified into this stuff" Irey replied.

A small smile appeared on the young teen.

"She might be alive then...right?" Shoto questioned.
"I was thinking the same thing, let's hope she is!" Irey said.

That afternoon, Rei Todoroki, wife of the current number one hero Endeavor was reported missing.

Shoto and the rest left the hospital and proceeded to head home.
"She might be alive huh?" Kirishima said with a smile.
"Yeah...but still...there is a possibility that she's-"
"I'm not giving up until I know for sure" Before Iida could finish, he was cut off by Shoto.
"I'm not giving up either!" Midoriya said.
"Me too!" Uraraka agreed.
"Same here!" "It's not manly at all to not help a friend out, count me in!" Both Yaoyorozu and Kirshima agreed as well.
"I'll help as well" Iida said.

"You guys...don't have to" Shoto said.
"We don't have to, We know...but, we want to help!" Midoriya said raising his fist up in the air.

"Thanks" Shoto replied.

There's a possibility that she's alive...I'm happy about that but...there's also a possibility that she's gone, dead. Even so, I won't give up till I know for sure...I won't give up until she is found and safe again.

She's alive...I know it!
