In those moments you feel like your thoughts are going to eat you alive and make you do things you‘ll regret, stop for a minute, and go do something you really enjoy. Go for a walk. Smile at the strangers you walk by, who knows maybe you‘ll meet a really hot guy? Everyday, think of three good things that happened. It will be difficult at first, because that monster in your head doesn‘t want you to see the positive, only the negative. But the more you want to notice the good, the more things you‘ll be adding to the list of reasons to smile. Trick your brain into looking for the positive, instead of all the negative. Even in the bad situations, there‘s always something good in it. For example: the other morning I walked to my locker, to find it locked , backwards. My lock had been broken for a while, so I was happy that someone was kind enough to fix it for me, rather than me having to go through all that work to go to the office, ask for a new one, and memorize that combo. This may be a little thing, but there‘s always something good in everything, and everyday . BUT. IF you absolutely CAN NOT fight the urge to cut, instead of using a sharp object, wear a rubber band around your wrist, and when you have those undeniable urges, just GENTLY snap it against your skin. This is absolutely your last resort.
