The Novaks

So, the Novaks met the Hunters. That was interesting.

It started out exciting. Gabriel was in freaking touching distance of his celebrity crush! Lucifer, as usual, singled out a guy and put all attention on him. It just happened to be Michael, a world-known guitarist. As for Cas, he tried his best to just stare at the ground the whole time. He wasn't even supposed to be there. He was also really starting to regret the stage names at this point.

But once Dean mentioned Charlie, tensions in the room began to rise. The boys had no idea who this girl was, but apparently, she was fired. And that was a big deal to the band?

Dean stormed out of the room. Given the level of anger he was emitting, Castiel decided that was probably for the best. Michael began yelling at Chuck, demanding to know why and how he "could do such a thing". Even Crowley was pissed.

The Novaks were stuck in the middle of it all. They awkwardly inched over to a nearby white couch and sat down. Now everyone was staring at their feet.

Sam came over and sat in the only space left, at the end next to Gabriel. He tried giving a grin to possibly lighten the mood, but everyone knew that wasn't going to happen.

After five minutes, the Novaks all sighed in relief as Sam finally spoke up, having noticed how uncomfortable they were. "Okay! You guys hash it out, I'm gonna take these guys to their hotel and maybe we can try again tomorrow."

Of course, no one was actually listening, so he just stood up and led the group out by himself. Sam was on an awkwardly silent elevator ride for the second time that day.

As they walked through the lobby Castiel saw Dean at the bar of the restaurant. Every part of him wanted to comfort the man, but that would definitely be over-stepping.

Once outside, Sam stopped walking and turned to the rest of the group, "I am so sorry about that guys. Chuck just kind of screwed up by firing someone he shouldn't have, and as you can see, she was very important to us. I'm sure it will be better tomorrow."

"It's fine, really," Gabe suggested. "Maybe not the best intro to the music world." he chuckled stiffly. "But, hey, it's better than nothing."

"Yes, and we understand that things don't always go as planned, " Castiel added at the end.

The conversation seemed to come to an end. Both Gabriel and Castiel noticed that Lucifer had been oddly quiet this whole time, but it probably wasn't a big deal (wink wonk). After a few minutes of awkward silence and people rushing around them on the busy streets. Sam finally thought it was a good idea to get moving.

"So, where's your hotel anyway?" he asked.

"It's not far," Lucifer finally spoke. "We can make it on our own."

But for some reason, Sam did not want to leave the group. "No, no, it's fine. I insist."

Lucifer rolled his eyes, "Fine, I'll lead."

And with that, they joined the stream of thousands of New Yorkers trying to get places. As he said, Lucifer led at the front of the group. Sam and Gabe were behind him, and Castiel was at the back. Cas was nervous that he would get lost, and resorted to playing with the sleeves of his trench coat, which were just a little too long. He made sure to keep his eyes on the back of the tallest member, Sam. The moose, however, didn't notice because he was glued to Gabriel.

Sam tried his best to start a conversation, "So... what are the stage names all about?"

"Oh. I think they were Luci's idea," Gabe lied. "I guess it's kinda just to make us seem cooler or something." For the first time in his life, he was being shy. This was not a feeling that Gabe particularly liked, but he just couldn't shake it.

"Cool, cool, cool."

Dammit, Sam, he scolded himself. That is way too many 'cools'.

He persisted, "Did you come up with yours?"

"Cas actually did. He went into this long, Sherlock-like deduction about why each of us should have the names we do."

That. That right there caused Sam's eyes to light up.

"You watch Sherlock?!"

And thus, the fangirling began. They continued all the way to the hotel. The one time Sam stopped to take a breath, he realized he was in the Novak's hotel room, but he didn't really care. He was having a great conversation with a really hot guy. That's all that mattered.
