Castiel

Cas and Dean headed to the nearest coffee shop. Fortunately, this was "the city that never sleeps", and the shop was still open.

They walked in silence and when they got there Dean paid for Castiel's drink, which was a little unnecessary, but okay.

The two took a booth and Dean started the conversation with an apology. "Look, man, I'm sorry about earlier today. I overstepped a boundary by pushing you to do something you clearly didn't want to do, and that's not okay at all. I understand if you never wanna see me again, but I just hope you can accept my apology."

The baffled Cas. "Why would I never want to see you again?" he asked, squinting his eyes and tilting his head. "You made a mistake. Sure, it annoys the heck out of me, but it's not that big of a deal."

"Are you sure?"

"You don't think you deserve to be forgiven, do you?" Castiel tried to figure the man out. "Tell me, when was the last time you had a friend, not in the music business."

Dean was confused but went along, "Well, we started the band in high school. So, yeah, high school."

"That was, what, five years ago?"

"What can I say?" Dean shrugged. "Don't need friends when I got all this."

"Everybody needs friends, Dean."

"Then, I guess I'm lucky that I got you, buddy."

Buddy. That word rang in Castiel's head a million times as soon as Dean said it. To be honest, it stung. It hurt like a stab wound to the heart. Buddy. That's all Cas was to the rockstar, just a mate. A chum. A pal. A friend. Nothing more.

He couldn't help it, but Cas wanted more. More than buddies. He wanted to be close to Dean. Closer than anyone else had ever been. Why couldn't he be closer?

Michael

Michael went to work the next morning with a plan in his mind. He was going to talk to Lucifer. He was going to apologize. And he was going to make things right. He didn't even stop for coffee like he normally would.

As he walked into the building, he went straight to the elevator doors, pressed the ninth button and went up to the studio. The doors opened, but instead of seeing the studio, he came face to face with none other than Naomi.

"You're not welcome here," she growled. "You are a distraction to my clients, and frankly you have shitty music as well. Go away."

However, Michael was absolutely determined. He stood his ground, "I need to speak to Lucifer, and it needs to happen now."

Behind her, he could see Lucifer and Gabe. They were both staring at him, their eyes begging for help.

"Not happening," Naomi shot back. She hit the button to the elevator, the doors closed and Michael was going back downstairs.

That was a complete fail. Fine, though. If he couldn't get in, Michael would just have to wait until they came out. Naomi would have to let them eat eventually. Right?

After an hour of waiting, the other two Winchesters and Cas showed up. They went up to the Hunters studio to hang out for a little bit before Crowley got there.

When they all took a seat on the couches, Cas pulled out his phone, put on his headphones, and started listening to something with great intensity. The rest of the group carried on their conversation.

"So, how was your date last night, Sam?" Michael asked, trying to distract his mind.

"It was pretty good," came the reply. "I really think we're gonna go on another one soon."

"That's great!" Dean piped in. "I'm proud of you, Sammy."

At this point, Cas unplugged his headphones and stated, "You guys should hear this. It's a song Lucifer wants to put on their album."

The song began to play and the first words were spoken by Lucifer:

This one goes out to that dick Michael.

Well, that's one way to get someone's attention. The rest of the song turned out to be loosely based on the date the two went on and how Michael didn't deserve love.

Michael was infuriated, but he didn't get blind angry this time. Not again. Clearly, that had consequences. Instead, he walked to the elevator and headed one floor down to the Archangel's studio.

This time, Naomi wasn't there to stop him. He walked up and got face to face with Lucifer. He calmly whispered, "I came here this morning to apologize. I thought we could be grown-ups about the situation and move on. Then, you went and wrote that song. If you see me as 'that dick Michael', then fine. Just don't expect me to ever forget."

Without even waiting for a response, Michael turned an left.
