Life begins to soar through my body as I gasp awake in a hospital bed; IV's tangled around my arms. I don't understand. I should've been dead...
I look around the dimly lit room. Why was nobody here? Where are the boys? Where's my Li?
I yank the wires stuck in my skin so they were no longer keeping me in my bed. I had to get up. I had to find somebody and get all the answers to my questions.
"Hello?" I call down the hallway, obviously not thinking of all the sick people staying here as well. "Hello!?" I scream a bit louder. You think nurses would come out and talk to me. It is a hospital after all.
"Calm down, Megan. You're waking the dead." I spin around to see where the voice was coming from. A girl dressed in all white was sitting with crossed legs on the check in counter. I had never seen her in my life, so how she knows my name is a mystery to me.
"Oh wait. You're Emily now. Anyways, I'm Maddie. Your guardian angel, and before you ask, no I don't grant wishes. I'm not a damn genie."
Emily? Who is Emily? I've never met an Emily.
"Dang woman. Get with the program. You died. Sayanara. Pushin' up daisies, babe,"
I guess I still had the same expression on my face because she sighs.
"I'll go slower. You. Megan, have died, but God being the generous man he is decided to give you another chance at life. You know to make things right with your sex god of a boyfriend, but you're in a different girl's body who conveniently died around the same time. So, Liam's never met you before, so good luck there."
For a guardian angel she wasn't very angelic. She was more sassy.
"Look on the birght side though. You're not ugly. If anything you're prettier than before."
And a little bitchy....
She holds up a mirror so I can look at myself. My beautiful blond hair now cascaded down my back in dark brown waves. My freckles had disappeared, and my nose pointed upward just the tiniest bit. The only thing I could recognize we're my eyes which were almost exactly the same.
"Okay. No need to stare that long," Maddie snaps pulling the mirror away.
"Wait. If none of my friends have met Emily. How the hell am I supposed to make this work?"
Her laugh rings out like tiny bells, "I never said it would be easy."
"B-but."
"Call me if you need anything! But, try not to!"
"MADDIE!" I cry, but it was too late. She had already left me alone.
