Another Auhor's note to thank the readers, though there aren't many of you. :)
Thanks for sticking with me through such a long break I took between last part and this one. I've just had a lot of doubts on my writing, though they're still there. I think I'll finish this fan fiction and close writing away in a drawer for awhile, but you guys are stuck with me until I finish because it means a lot to me that I finish the last fan fiction I'll write.
Again. Thanks loves. xx
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Its been a week or so since mine and Liam's, "First Date" and of course those stupid doubts begin creeping into my mind, and I know I shouldn't listen to them, but all the signs pointed towards Maddie and her stupid meddling.
For the first time she came right when I called her name. Maybe she could hear my frustration.
I got up into her perfect angelic face, "That wasn't Liam thinking. Was it? It was all you sitting up there toying with his mind wasn't it!?"
She backs away a bit, "Yes, but-"
"No buts. I told you I didn't want you to mess with him, and just because you're bored of trying on lace dresses and pastels doesn't mean you can go on and ignore what I said!"
"Emily! Can't you hear me out? I was just trying to help you. You get so upset when he's not near you! And all you did was regret what you said to him. I couldn't see you like that! Because, believe it or not, I consider you a friend."
I shake my head, "Please Maddie. Cut the bull shit."
I probably shouldn't have let what I said next slip out of my mouth, but of course I did, "You're dead! What do you know about love anyways!?"
Her blue eyes filled to the top with tears, but she doesn't say anything. I blinked and the next thing I knew she was gone.
Okay, so I crossed a line.
Dammit. Now I feel bad. I start calling her name all throughout the house, "Maddie! Maddie! I didn't mean it!"
My search party is interrupted by a light knock at my door. I sigh once before rushing over and answering it.
Uh, this is weird, "Niall?"
Emily had barely said two sentences to him, so why was he staring at me from the other side of the door?
He begins sniffling, "I- I needed to talk to somebody, and Genevieve's still mad at me. You were the first person to pop into my head, so I came here."
As if on cue he breaks down and leans his body into mine.
"I saw Ciara kissing Josh. I thought they were just friends, Emily, but, they were laughing, and smiling, and swapping kisses. It's just not fair."
I wasn't exactly sure what to say, so I just wrap my arms more tightly around his tiny body.
"Shhh Niall. You'll be alright. Maybe, it just wasn't meant to work out."
His ice blue orbs search my eyes for an explanation or for me to expound on the subject some more.
"Well, if she's happier with somebody else, wouldn't you want her to be with that somebody else?"
He didn't want to admit it, but he knew I was right.
"I just wanted it to work out... I've been waiting for my princess for so long. It's almost frustrating."
I flash him a quick smile, "I think you're searching too hard. I think you're just looking past her is all. She's probably right under your nose, but you haven't noticed."
"What are you talking about?"
Oh for Pete's sake. This boy is so oblivious, "Genevieve! Didn't you ever think why she was so upset when she saw you with Ciara? She was jealous. She wants you. And only you."
His eyes looked like I had just told him I had found a cure for cancer. He looked so excited.
"Gen? She likes me?"
I start to giggle at his slow comprehension, "Yes, you. Now, why don't you go out there find her and ask her out!?"
"I can't." He leans back against me, "I miss Ciara too much."
I really can't do anything right today.
"Listen Niall. You need to go. Go out and get over her. She has Josh and is happy. You could be just happy and leave it off on good terms if you just go and ask Genevieve to go catch a movie or maybe you can just take her for a drive around town. I'm sure she'd really love to."
His eyes sparkle once again, "Okay, I think I'll do that." He kisses me gently on the cheek before turning around to face a hallway that we both thought was empty.
Well, we were wrong.
Standing to the right of my door, was a very shocked Genevieve with Italian in her hands.
It smelled so good, but I know I won't be getting any of it. You could tell by her body language she was too upset to even think about moving.
Or so I thought, before I knew it, she had dropped the food onto the hallway's floor and ran off in the other direction.
Niall automatically turns to face me, "It didn't mean anything,, right!? It was a friendly kiss! Why?" He drops his face into his hands and automaically begins crying.
"Babe, I got it, It'll be okay. I'll fix everything,"
I chase after Gen but she doesn't turn around for anything,
"Stop! Gen! It didn't mean anything! I swear!"
"We're best friends. You don't do that to a best friend!"
I grab her hand so she has to turn and face me, "I was telling him to ask you out! It was a friendly peck on the cheek. Do you really think I would let Niall kiss me like he was in love? It would hurt you, our friendship, and I love Liam too much for that. Think it over."
She takes in a deep breathe and lets it out with a sigh. Wiping at her cheeks with the back of her hand she replies, "I'm sorry... I wasn't thinking. When I saw you with him I just started filling with rage and I couldn't think straight."
I smile at her, "Well, I know he really wants to ask you out. So why don't we go back over to him?"
She nods her head and follows my lead back up to my flat.
"Oh my god! Geneveive! I didn't mean it! I was just thanking her for talking with me!"
She pushes the blondish brown hair off of his forehead, and he takes his thumb and wipes the tears resting under her eyelids.
And yes, of course, they sat there and kissed passionately for a good 2 or 3 minutes. Like, damn. Singers have good breath support.
They intertwine hands and turn to face me, "I'm sorry about the carpet outside your flat, Em..."
I roll my eyes, "Don't matter to me. Somebody will come and clean it up later anyways. You guys just go off and have fun."
And I meant it, I wanted everything with them to work out, even if I was going to be stuck alone now.
Well, I was alone, but not for long.
