Chapter Seven.

It's been a week since I talked to Liam, and every day it's the same flacking thing.

-Wake up from a sleepless night

-Drink my coffee

-Get a call from Gen and Mel

-Clean my already too clean apartment.

-Shower

-Regret what I said.

I'm guessing today will be exactly the same as the 6 before it, but who knows? Maybe I'll spice it up a bit and regret everything before I shower.

I walk down the hall and towards the stairs.

"What are you doing?" Maddie says before I could get to the first step.

"Nice of you to show up," I mumble to myself. She'd been missing for a week, so whatever I did must have made her pretty pissed off at me.

"Shut up; You just never do what I want. It's irritating."

"You're not exactly a ray of sunshine yourself, now if you excuse me. I have coffee to drink."

She lets me walk past her, but the second I reach the bottom she starts laughing, "Oh right. Uh, somebody used all your coffee, so i guess you have to do something other than mope all day." She laughs a little louder before disappearing altogether.

I look towards my ceiling, "I feel like you and your saints are all sitting there laughing at my misery."

I crawl back up the stairs and into my bedroom to change and grab my wallet.

I wasn't exactly trying to make an effort, so I throw on an over sized black striped tee shirt, my overly ripped skinny jeans, and my black vans.

Ugh, I really didn't want to drive without coffee in my system. I'll kill myself... again.

I shake the thought away as soon as it occurs and dig my phone out of my pocket.

"Gennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn," I whine into the speaker, "Come drive me to the storeeeeeeeeeeeeee."

"Emily?" A male's voice breathes from the other end.

"L-Liam? Why do you have Genevieve's phone?"

"I was in her room to ask her if she would make me breakfast, but she wasn't awake yet, so when her phone began to ring I picked it up. Did you know she set her ring tone to 'Oath' by Cher Lloyd when you call? That's cool. It's the part with the lazy, and you know what I'm-"

"You're rambling, Liam. Uh, is Melody up? Niall?"

He pauses to think, "Nope. Don't think so."

Well. That's not helpful.

"I-I could drive you. Maybe?" He was quiet, almost like he was afraid to ask.

"Uh, sure. That'd be nice." I don't know if he could hear the smile in my voice, but I could hear a one in his.

"I'll be there soon."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Nice, uh, holes?" He says staring down at my legs.
"Just shut up and take me to the store, Li."
Shit. Did I just call him Li?
"Did you just call me Li?" His whispers coated in shock.
"Yeah. It's called a nickname. Get with the program, man."
He rolls his chocolate brown eyes once, before starting the car, "If you get a nickname for me. I get one for you."
"How about Em?" He smiles, obviously proud of himself.
"Em? That's all you got. Hit me again."
"But, I don't have any other ideas." He whines pulling out of the parking lot.
"Then you better get to thinking. I haven't got all day."
Or, technically I do, but he doesn't need to know that.
It takes him the whole ride to the store to think of something I might actually like, "How about Eminem? Like the candy, but you know. Em, like the nickname before."
"Now that one I like," I watch as a smile creeps across his face; I think he's finally coming out of that depressing funk, "Are you just gonna sit here? I have coffee to buy."
He looked almost stunned that I wanted him to come, "C'mon," I giggle pulling him out of the drivers seat.
Oh lord. Where did that flirting come from? I didn't mean to do that. That's just. I'M TOO AWKWARD FOR THAT.
He didn't seem too phased by it, so I act like it didn't happen and continued walking beside Liam. He nudges me playfully with his shoulder as we walk through the automatic doors.
"What was that for?" I smile nudging him right back.
He just shrugs his shoulders, "I thought it would spark up some conversation, and look-" He makes jazz hands in the air, "it did."
"You think we'll just talk about nudging the whole time? That's so boring. Why don't you tell me about yourself."
Although, I knew everything. I could play along.
"I'm not all that exciting...." The tip of his nose presses against my now blushing cheek, "You seem much more interesting."
It was like my tongue grew three sizes, because all I could do was trip over my words, "C-Coffee's th-this way, r-right?"
Moving away from my face, he nods, and like that the moment was over. Way to go Emily.
"So what kind of coffee do you usually drink?" Obviously, he was uninterested.
"Not a coffee man; are you?"
"No," He laughs slightly, "Is it that obvious?"
"Well, you just seem bored with this, like being with somebody as fun as me isn't enough to entertain you." I wink throwing a box of coffee into his hands.
"A grocery store date isn't fun with anybody."He flashes his perfectly straight teeth without looking up.
Date?
"Uh, date?" I smile nudging him again.
"Did I say date? I meant-"
"You meant date, Liam. No denying. We all know you want some of this sexy girl." I point to myself with my thumbs and move them back and forth.
"Oh hush, Emily."
His cheeks turn a bright pink and I couldn't help but nudge him one more time, "Awwww. Is Liam embarrassed?"
"You're just worried you won't get a kiss on the first date."
"Oh yeah? I won't?"
He shakes his head, as I begin laughing.
I stand on my tip toes, and press my lips to his.
This kiss wasn't like the ones before. It wasn't rushed or desperate. It was one of those kisses everybody wants in there lifetime. A random, spur of the moment, passionate kiss.
"How's that for a kiss?" I back off feeling satisfied.
"Uh yeah. That was... Yeah."
I push him foward slightly, "Let's just go buy my coffee. People are staring at us."
