JENNIE'S POV

Lisa would not wriggle on her chair all the time trying to pick the steamed potatoes on her plate as best she could. Her facial expression was epic, but since I didn't want to make her more uncomfortable than she already looked, I pretended not to notice her state. Unlike her, my parents were comfortable by explaining to me what it was like to live in New York. In fact, it has been more than a year since they decided to move to America and although I am a responsible adult, they wanted me to come with them but I had already made my decision, my home was here and nowhere else.

"So Lisa, tell us more about you." my mother said, delicately placing her cutlery on the white napkin folded like you can find it in a hotel.

"I am currently a photographer and I own a studio not far from here."

"Oh, my God! I'm also a former photographer!" my father suddenly exclaimed and became interested in the conversation when a few minutes ago he was focused on his meal. Lisa's face lit up when she heard what my father said. She was more relaxed and began to find topics for conversation with my parents while I watched them chatting with a playful look as if their daughter was no longer important at all.

"Really?! What was your favorite camera?"

"Mmmh... I'll say the Polaroids."

"May I ask why?"

"Probably because my wife liked to hang her pictures on her walls when she was a teenager, but now it's a trend that is coming back today."

"Yes, because Polaroids these days are not as expensive as they were then and there are plenty of other high quality cameras that are worth a look."

"You're right... You know that three years ago, I gave Jennie a camera thinking she would use it well. To my surprise, she replied that she would prefer to have her picture taken."

"I told you dad to not buy this camera." I rolled my eyes. My dad always wants me to love photography but it wasn't really my thing, I mean it was until I met Lisa.

"I don't know if Ruby- I mean Jennie told you but she was my model for an important project."

"Sweetie! Why didn't you tell us?" my mother turned to me and overreacted as if I hadn't told them I was pregnant.

"I kind of forgot?" it was more of a question than a statement. My mother shook her head and put her hand on mine.

"Your father and I want to know all the important moments in your life and even if we don't often have the opportunity to tell you, we are really proud of you, my little mandu." I heard Lisa laughing like an idiot next to me and when she saw my murderer's glare, she immediately shut up. I feel like she's going to annoy me with that nickname from now on.

The rest of the meal went well. Fortunately, my parents did not ask for more information about Lisa's private life and I was surprised to see that they did not ask questions about our relationship. I wasn't even sure I was telling them the truth. It's not that I'm afraid to tell them, but I just don't know if they have the same philosophy as me. I know they will always love me no matter what I do, but they don't need to agree with my decisions, although I will never change my mind even if they were against it. I was also very surprised to see how Lisa got along with my parents. It had only been a few hours since they met that I had the impression that they had known each other for several years. I guess I'll have to reward her later.

"We're glad to have seen you again, sweetie. We're going to stay a few more days in Seoul so we were waiting for you to call us, okay?"

"Yes dad, I love you." I hugged him tightly while his placed a kiss on the top of my head. The only time I was feeling like an innocent baby was when i was with my parents.
