Lucy's POV

.

"Lucyyyyyyyyy!" I won't up to a screaming Dan and Phil. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" The jumped on the bed, one on either side of me.

"Jesus, you two gave me a heart attack! Not exactly my ideal birthday present."

"Sorry, we wanted to surprise you." Phil giggled.

"Mission accomplished," I poked him.

"Are you hungry?" Dan asked me. I nodded. "Good."

"Well, I'm already in a Phanwhich, so..." They both laughed. They looked at each other, Dan smirked, and Phil winked. Then they both looked back at me.

"What was that?" I asked them.

"What was what?" Phil countered.

"Oh come on. You winked at Dan. What was that about?"

"You'll find out soon enough, love." Dan found my hand and squeezed it. Love. I don't think I'll ever get over him calling me things like that.

"Come on. We actually have a special breakfast planned out for you, so go get ready. We want to leave by half nine." Phil instructed. He got up and left.

I turned to look at Dan. "What time is it?"

He looked at his phone. "Half eight."

I nodded my head. "Alright, one hour to shower and get ready. Got it." I started to get out of bed when Dan grabbed my wrist and pulled me back onto the bed. "Daniel! I shrieked as I fell back onto the bed next to him.

"What, I don't get to say happy birthday to my girl?" He smirked at me. My heart skipped a beat, and I swallowed. He slowly leaned in, and I followed. Our lips were so close to touching when Phil burst into the room again. We pulled apart and looked at him.

"Hurry up, Lucy!" He ran over and pulled me up off the bed. "If you hurry, you can open one of your gifts before we go! Come on, Dan. Let's let her get ready." he pulled Dan out before I could say anything.

"Dammit," I said under my breath. I grabbed my clothes and brushed my hair before running off to the bathroom. I made sure the door was locked before starting the water and stripping down. I showered as fast as I could, got dressed, and ran to Dan's room. I opened the door, hoping to find him in there. He was. He was laying on his bed, checking his phone.

"Hey," he smiled at me when he heard me walk in.

"Hi," I smiled back.

"Do you want me to leave?" He said, starting to get up.

"No, no it's okay. All I'm doing is makeup." He sat back down on the bed. I pulled out my foundation and started to apply it.

"Hey," he said. I turned to look at him. He grinned. "Happy birthday, Lucy."

I smiled. "Thank you, Dan." I turned around and went back to my makeup. I finished foundation, put on powder, and started on eyeliner. Once I had it to perfection, I reached for my mascara, but it wasn't there. I turned around, and Dan was standing there, holding my mascara.

"Dan, I need that." I tried to reach for it, but he held it higher. "Dan."

"Lucy," he mocked me.

"Dan, please," he looked at me for a second before giving in. He handed it over and snuck a kiss onto my cheek. I turned quickly before he could see me blush, but he must have caught me because he let out a low chuckle, causing me to blush more. I quickly put on my mascara and sprayed on a bit of my favorite vanilla perfume. Dan walked up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist, resting his chin on my head.

"You know, Lucy, we never got to finish what we started earlier." I looked at him in the mirror. I leaned my head further back into him, and he swiveled me around. I looked up at him, and he leaned in. Our foreheads touched, and he brushed his nose against mine. The doorbell rang, but it blended in with the ringing in my ears. Dan wanted to kiss me. I wanted to kiss him, too. But this was my first kiss. I don't know what to do. What if I'm bad? What if he thinks I'm an awful kisser? What if it's nothing like I've ever dreamed?

I start to panic, but he leans in further. Then, Phil yells for Dan. I let out a breath, and Dan pulls away. "Yes?" He shouts back.

"Package!" He answers. Dan's eyes widen, and he runs off. I press my hand against my chest and fall back against the dresser. Adrenaline is rushing through my body, though I haven't even kissed him. But we've come close, three times now, interrupted each time by Phil. Part of me is upset, and another part of me is relieved. I wouldn't know what to do if he kissed me. I brushed my hair and walked out. Phil was sitting on the couch.

"Hey Phil. Where's Dan?" I asked him, throwing myself onto the couch.

"Clingy, are we?" Phil replied. I must have looked offended, because he said, "Relax, I'm kidding, Lucy. He's in my room."

"Why is Dan in your room?"

"No reason," Phil went back to his laptop, avoiding eye contact.

"Phil," he looked up at me. "What's going on?" He opened his mouth to answer when Dan walked it.

"Right, who's ready to go?" He said. Phil jumped up.

"Let's go! Lucy, your special birthday breakfast awaits you." Phil ran out, leaving Dan and I. Dan held out his hand, and I took it. He pulled me off the couch, and we walked out to meet Phil at the front door, hand in hand.
