Chapter 16 - Betrayal

Clara's POV

I walked into the house and I smelled something weird. I drew my iron sword looking around. I jumped a mile a minute when I heard a creaking sound.

"Who's there?" I demanded.

"Take it easy. It's just me." Said my ally, Shelly. "I'm looking around because someone has been here."

"What if one of Herobrine's enemies has been in here?" I said.

Then I paused.

"What's going on?" Shelly asked. "You seem kind of tense."

"Just wait a second."

I saw a piece of fabric on our enchanting table. It was purple. I picked it up for Shelly to analyze.

"Huh." She said. "It looks so familiar."

"Is this the person we have been looking for?" I asked her.

"Maybe." She said. "It could help us track down his target and bring her to Herobrine."

I called Emma and Shelly to the place of the incident. Soon enough, the enchanting table was acting up. I looked at the entries. It said that someone enchanted a bow. Infinity, unbreaking, and power III.

"Ok girls." I announced. "We think we found our target. Let's track her down and bring her to Herobrine."

Madelyn's POV

We were deep in the forest, thinking we lost them. We have been running for a while now.

Sticking together, we heard a rustle in the bushes.

"Get behind me!" I commanded.

They did.

With no hesitation, an arrow whizzed by us. "Dude." Someone said. "Can you even aim a bow? Oh just give it."

She fired and hit my wound. I screamed in pain and charged. "You will pay for this, you scum bag!" I screamed. They all ran, but Garrett and Caitlin went another way. Probably it is to cut them off. I charged at the brunette.

Clara's POV

I was being chased by a girl that is half wolf. She seemed really mad. Honestly, she can fight mefor all I care. I stopped and faced her. I was met by a auburn haired holf hybrid with yellow eyes. Then it came to me. I just realized it was Madelyn. I felt guilty for hitting her, but I mean, she is the target after all. She went up to strike me, but I drew my iron sword and held it up. I had blocked her attack and swords were clanging together. She kept swiping at me, but I kept dodging. Then I decided to slash at her. This time, she blocked me and our swords locked.

"Hey." I said. "I know you."

"What makes you think I know you?" She sassed. "I'm Herobrine's next target. Everyone knows that."

"Really? I thought so." I said with a smirk on my face.

She broke free of our locked swords and she started to attack again. This time, she swung and missed. I had found a weak point where she was opened up to me. Now was my chance. I grabbed her arm and swung my arm around her and held my sword at her throat.

"One more move and you are dead." I said.

Madelyn's POV

"Wait." I said. "You're Clara. Why would you do this to me?"

She screamed at me. "I have no choice, but to bring you to him. If I don't do what he says three times, he will kill me." She pulled weakly on the arrow.

I screamed. "Watch it. Gosh darn it!"

To others came out, but they didn't have Caitlin or Garrett.

"Clara!" Said the bleach-blonde. "Nice going. Who is it?"

I had my head slightly down and eyes closed as Clara's sword rested on my collar bone with the sharp edge at my neck.

"Open your eyes, wolf." She said.

"What if I don't?" I sassed.

I swear I heard that voice before.

It was Shelly. "We just wanna see if we found the right person."

Screw it. "You will know who it is when you see me,....Shell."

She was stunned. "Did you just call me Shell?" She asked me. "Only Madelyn calls me Shell."

"I know." I said. "Because I am Madelyn, you freaking idiot." I opened my eyes.

She stood there for another minute, in shock. "What? How?"

There was my chance. "Go!" I screamed.

At the sound of my voice, Caitlin and Garrett ran to Shelly and the other blonde. Caitlin grabbed Shelly and held an arrow at her throat and Garrett grabbed the other blonde and swung his axe close to her throat.

"You even try to hurt Madelyn, they die." Said Garrett.

Emma's POV

I was struggling with the diamond axe at my throat. A tear was slowly coming down my face. I didn't want to die. Not like this.

"Let me go." I screamed. "Clara. Don't kill her."

"That's what I like to hear." Said Garrett. "You heard the girl."

"Well, what if I don't?" Clara asked.

"Clara, stop this now!" I screamed. "Just freaking listen!"

Caitlin's POV

I was surprised holding an arrow at Shelly's throat. "Why would you guys betray us like this?" I asked. "Emma! Shelly! Clara! Why?"

"I have no choice." Clara said. "Herobrine is forcing me to."

"Don't listen to him." Madelyn said. "It will only give you guilt."

"Still, what if I don't?"

Madelyn screamed. "I can easily break out and go all out, so just let me go damnit!"

Clara sighed as she let go of Madelyn. She seemed reluctant

"Now will you let my friends go?" She asked us.

Madelyn's POV

"Then I want you to prove it." I said. "Take the arrow, that you fired, out of my arm."

I pointed at my left arm.

"Ok." She said. And she took ahold of the arrow.

I had a smile on my face. But then she looked at me with a smirk.

"I thought you even trusted me." She said. She pushed the arrow in an inch.

I screamed. "God Damnit, Clara!"

I swung at her, nicking her arm. She had a shallow gash in her arm. She winced.

"Take the gosh darn arrow out of my frikkin arm." I said. "Or else they freaking get it."

"Madelyn! Why?" Shelly asked.

"I don't care." I screamed. "You guys were my friends. And now, you guys have broken my trust, now take the freaking arrow out of my arm!"
