Chapter 29 - Training

Emma's POV

So yeah. After I heard that Madelyn was alive, I decided to train. I decided to go to the nearest shooting range in Minecraftia. I grabbed my infinity bow. I called up Shelly and Clara.

Their images came up. "Hey guys." I said. "Wanna get our mind off things?"

"Sure." Said Shelly. "What are we doing? What should I bring?"

"Why not you get your dagger and you, Clara, why not get your sword?" I asked them. "We are going to the arena."

Shelly thought for a minute. "You know what? Let's do it. C'mon Clara, it'll be fun!

Clara just shrugged. "I guess. This will help me take my mind off things."

Clara's POV

I wasn't myself. I was never this glum while going to the arena. Might as well do some fighting with a couple of people.

We arrived at the arena and we trained for hours.

Emma was shooting her bow, Shelly was practicing her defenses with her dagger, and I found two dummies and practiced on them.

Emma was hitting the target in the bulls-eye every time. I was struggling with the thought of what might happen next.

This stupid binding curse needs to wear off once Madelyn is killed. I made a deal with him and because I made a stupid decision, I'm on his side. I'll have no control whatsoever unless a miracle happens.

Samantha's POV

After we got Madelyn back, we were training. I paired up with her in fighting to get her skills back.

"So." I said. "Let's brush you up on your defense."

"Sure thing." Madelyn replied. "Come at me."

I was throwing punches at her for her to block. She did really well.

I attempted a kick, and she grabbed my foot. She was about to flip me.

"Don't hurt me!" I said, cowering.

She just laughed. "You think I'm stupid enough to actually hurt you? C'mon bud."

I then paired up Madelyn and Eileen for bow deflection. Madelyn drew her sword as Eileen aimed her bow and arrow at her.

"Let's go." Eileen chirped as she drew.

Eileen then fired as Madelyn used her sword and the arrows deflected off her sword and to the ground.

She went in for the 'blow' and faked a strike not hurting her.

They were on the ground laughing. "This can't get old." Maddy said.

"I totally agree with you." Eileen replied laughing. "This is too fun!"

Garrett's POV

I gazed at Madelyn, training and brushing up on her skills. She was catching on fast. I always knew she was a natural.

Cora walked to me and sat down next to me. "Maddy is an awesome girl, you know. I'm happy for you two."

"Thanks." I said. "When I first saw her, it was when Eileen and I came to help her. I remember she was on her knees and blood was dripping from her left arm. She collapsed on the ground. Then, she and I helped her out and brought her to her house. We put her in her bed. Eileen went to get the wrap as I poured a healing potion on the wound. She came back with the wrap and I wrapped her arm to ease the pain. She looked so pretty when she slept. I held her hand until she was about to open her eyes. I tried to be a helpful friend, but I kept having feelings for her."

She smiled at me and playfully punched me. "Good for you! But I want you to be careful with this. She's gonna be pretty shaken up after what's about to go down. Just keep that in mind."

I walked over to the water to wash my face. It was pretty scratched up from the fight. I took a few good punches before I was cornered at the time. I dont know how she was able to fend him off like that. Their agility was matched. He just caught her off guard. That's all. That wasn't fair on her part. Using me as motivation to fight wasn't a good idea.

Madelyn's POV

After training, we all slept under the mushroom we hid under. I was still scared. I wonder if he will come back again. We have two days left. Anything could come our way. The only one up was Cora. She was keeping watch.

I honestly don't blame her. She wants to hurt her brother as much as I do. Hopefully, I can get it done and over with.
