Adrien's POV
After we talked for a long time, Marinette and I decided that we should leave. We would go out of the country; maybe even leave the continent. I have many houses in Europe, so it wouldn't be a problem to escape for a bit. Natalie had promised me a vacation anyways, so I would take my vacation.
"So, what are you thinking?" I asked her. "Maybe London? Maybe Amsterdam? Or, how about we go to Ireland?"
She and I were sitting on my bed looking online. She was looking at the flights, the weather, the time zones, and everything else for a vacation. As she looked and described the different places, I was telling her about the house in that place.
"The place in London is a beautiful apartment. Not as big as the house in Ireland, but just as lovely," I explained. "I even used to go to Big Ben with my mom," I whispered to myself.
She seemed to pause as if she heard me. Nonetheless, she continued looking at the laptop on her lap.
"It's supposed be raining in London everyday this week," she sighed.
The pout on her face was adorable.
I shrugged, "Well, it's always like that in London."
She smiled at that, and I couldn't help but realize that I hadn't seen her like that in a while. She had been crying so much the night her parents called her that she didn't sleep. And me being worried and all about her, I couldn't sleep. We spent the night talking about our struggles with verbally and physically abusive parents. We talked about our worst stories. After a while, we didn't want a depressing mood, so we looked up happy things. We played video games, did some online shopping, and anything else to not be sad.
"I've always wanted to go to the London Eye," she admitted.
I smiled at her, "Then I guess that you are going to see the London Eye."
She smiled back before returning to the laptop to determine where the apartment was. I watched amused as she typed furiously biting her plump lips. I focused on her lips for a minute. Had they always looked that juicy? Has she always worn that perfect shade of light pink? The way she bit her lip made me want to bite it too. She didn't know what she was doing to me just by simply biting her lip in concentration.
"Adrien?" She said, snapping me out of my lewd thoughts.
"Yeah, what?" I asked sheepishly.
She repeated, "I said that the flight would leave at one in the morning on Tuesday. So we'd pack and leave tomorrow."
I nodded as I thought about how the timing would work.
"That works perfectly," I smiled.
She smiled a wide smile, and enveloped me in an unexpected hug. I hesitated before wrapping my arms around her slim waist. She hadn't been like this for a while. Of course, we embraced each other last as she and I shared our pasts. Last night, though, she seemed off. She wasn't really hugging me last night like she was in this moment. After we pulled apart, I called Natalie to tell her the details about the flight.
Le Time
After a long ten minutes of coaxing Marinette awake, she budged out of bed. She groggily brushed her teeth and changed. I did the same, but in a more awake manner. She and I then went down the stairs with our suitcases in tow. After the silent car drive to the airport, we made our way onto the tarmac. Marinette looked in awe at the private jet my father owns.
"A-are we really going in that plane?" She asked.
I laughed at her cute reaction and replied with, "As long as we get on in time, yes."
When she didn't take the hint, I pushed her toward the plane by the small of her back. The flight attendants greeted us politely as we made our way to our seats. Marinette sat down tentatively after I sat down. She and I were directly next to each other with our knees almost touching.
"Hello, Mr. Agreste and Ms. Dupain-Cheng," one of the flight attendants greeted. "We'll be taking off momentarily."
"Thank you," I said to her as she walked off.
Marinette mumbled something to her with a nervous smile. I looked her up in down and noticed that she was a little jittery. She was fidgeting with her hands, and every once in a while, she would move in her seat. Her hands shook slightly as she buckled her seat belt.
"You should take a nap," I suggested. "I think that then you'll have more energy."
"No," she interjected too loudly.
I looked at her with a raised eyebrow, and the old me would've hit her. The new me decided that I should see what was wrong.
"Are you nervous?"
She hesitated before she nodded slowly.
"Why?"
She huffed out a breath, and told me, "I've only seen airplanes. I'm not super rich, and my parents don't like me enough to travel with me."
I understood her points. I bet if her parents had the money, they wouldn't even bring her on vacations. Unlike her parents, my father wanted to keep up appearances to make it seem like we were a happy father and son duo. Also, we had the money to travel.
"Yeah, tha—" I started to say until a noise interrupted me.
The plane had moved forward, and Marinette replied by shrieking. She stiffened before gripping my forearm and digging her head into my shoulder. I tried to stifle my laugh as her face turned impossibly red.
"Marinette, it's okay," I assured. "It'll only be about two hours."
She groaned as her grip tightened for a minute. I laughed at this.
"You told me you wanted to see the London Eye," I reminded her. "You did this to yourself."
She cried out, "I'm starting to regret that idea."
I laughed as she held me tightly the entire two hour ride.
What's gonna happen in London? Who knows?! You'll see in the next chapter.
