Hey guys! Welcome to my first book! I have never written a book before but I have won a price with a short story I wrote once! TY SO MUCH for reading! It means a lot to me!
(Also I wrote this poem)'It's the fear,
That's keeping you from dreaming,
Held captive in your own atmosphere,
All the great rising from your skin, steaming. It's the pain,
That leaves you with the unsaid,
Left you closed with no one to blame,
All the good disappearing from your head. It's the shock,
That makes you remember the heartbreak,
Woke you up at whenever o'clock,
All the right fading while you ache. It's the made-up,
That makes you realize: it was only a nightmare.'It was silent. Nobody even thought about speaking after hearing me say those words. No one suspected something as dark as this poem coming from me. I'm the one that's always happy and caring. Not only for others but also for myself.
I always try to see the best in people, I always took my glass half full instead off half empty. Positivity is my trademark. But even I can't always keep a smile on my face.
Last couple months have been really hard on me, and most people knew that. But this? This was different.
I felt better though. Instead of keeping everything inside I could speak my thoughts out with the excuse off having an English assignment.I walked back to my seat, cutting the thick silence around me with my footsteps. I sat down on my chair and my teacher starts talking again.
'Thank you, Valerie, for your poem. The next one can come up please.'As soon as the teacher started talking all the others started their conversations again, tearing their eyes away from me.
After class I went outside, enjoying the nice weather that had appeared a few days ago. I was really grateful for feeling the warmth of the sunlight on my skin. I sighed in relief and walked to the big tree in the back of the schoolyard.I took my phone, with my headphones still plugged in, out of my bag while sitting underneath the big tree.
I went to Spotify and started shuffling my playlist. I slowly closed my eyes and drifted away into a –notsodreamless- sleep.
I relived it all over again.A short chapter to begin with! But hey we've got to start somewhere right?
Love, V
