It was the next day, the day of the surprise party, and I had just gotten home.

Sadie still didn't seem to know about the party, which made it more exciting.

Julia was keeping her busy right now, they were shopping in the mall. Afterwards Sadie's parents would pick her up and go to dinner with her because today was her actual birthday.

While her parents let het eat as much as she wanted, we would prepare the party.

It was 4 o'clock right now and I was already getting ready for the party so I could be there early to hang garlands, inflate balloons and distribute tasks to others.

I looked for my green, silk straptop and grapped a pair of shorts to pair it with.

I got changed and went over to the bathroom to put some makeup on and put product in my hair to make it less fluffy.

I did all this in ten minutes while listening and singing to some 'Rolling Stones' songs.

When I was ready to go I grapped an apple and started taking big bites out of it.

'Dad, let's go! I'm ready!'

My dad had promised me to drive me and Summer to Sadie's house and Summer's mum would pick us up tonight.

I went to my dad's car and sat down in the passengers seat.

I was still disappointed that Hannah was not able to come tonight. I hoped she was going to be okay.

My dad sat down and we drove to Summer's house, chatting about the party.

Summer got in the car, wearing a denim skirt and a red and black striped top.
We didn't have to wear warm clothes because the weather had inproved, which was nice since it had been spring for a while.

'Hey Val! Hey Paul!'
She greated my dad and I.

'So,' she turned to me.
'Have you talked to Jacob?'

'No, I haven't. Do you know if he is bringing a date tonight?'

I tried to sound casual, but I knew both Summer and my dad didn't buy it.

'I don't know actually. I mean, any girl would go with him but I don't think he's interested in any of them.'

I sighed at that. Maybe I actually had a chance with him.

'So, you like this guy, huh?
Go after him! He would be crazy not to like my daughter!'

My dad laughed at himself and I chuckled too.

'Thanks dad, but it's just a crush. I'll get over it.'

It was just a crush, right?

Zoe and Alexa were already there when we arrived.

'Hey guys! You're late! We're almost done!'

Zoe pointed to the entire house.

It looked absolutely amazing.
Big neon, pink letters spelled Sadie's name on the facade of het house. The rest of the house was decorated with garlands and balloons and when I walked through the frontdoor I saw the brightly colored cake that we had ordered earlier this week standing on the table.

Everything looked perfect, we only had to switch the light off and turn on the music.

'This is AMAZING!' Summer exclaimed.

'We don't even have to do anything anymore!'

I faked an angry look and Zoe and Alexa laughed.

'All you have to do is connect the boxes to your phone and play some good music.
Oh and Summer, you can receive the guests.'

Alexa then turned around to check on something while Summer walked to the front door and I went to the boxes.

I had made a special playlist for this party, which consisted of old rock hits Sadie and I liked and music that others would like.

I connected my phone to the boxes and played shuffle.
'Paradise City' by Guns and Roses played and right away the whole house was filled with the sound, sending vibrations through my body on every beat.

Let the party begin!
