"Really Quan? What the fuck!" Sasha spat as they stormed up the block and away from the party.Quan didn't pay his sister any mind, too busy arguing as him and his girlfriend continued to bicker in front of them. Lux just rolled her eyes, as she wasn't that big of a fan of Shamira's anyway and it was no surprise that she brought her drama to the party.
"You're a fucking liar! Babysitting, huh?" Quan barked, rustling up Shamira as he grabbed her arm.
"Ouch, you're hurting me" she shrieked, pulling her arm away, "And I told you, my mom said never mind so I went to the party. Besides, you wanted to do something I didn't want to"
"Then why not just say that Shamira, instead you go to a party and shake your ass on random guys when you're supposed to be my girlfriend"
"I get that, Quan but a girl can have fun ya know!"
The two continued to bicker, and at this point Lux just wanted to walk down a different street."Just, let them two figure it out" She flagged her hand, "Let's catch a lyft the rest of the way"
"Nah, it's getting late and even though my dad is out of town my mom will give me a lecture about leaving my brother behind"
"We're never going to get back to yours walking with them" Lux gestured towards the arguing couple.
Sasha knew that was true, but she also refused to show up home without her brother. After their peace treaty, things had actually been lowkey at home.
From her dad always out of the house, to her mother too occupied on her dad to even pay attention to them, Sasha was experiencing freedom like never before. Who knew Philly would be the city to change the dynamics of her family life, and while things would eventually go left, she didn't see it coming.
Only enjoying the first few months of her senior year - which included basketball, dating, and friends. Who would've thought.Eventually Quan and Shamira calmed down on the way to the house, and Sasha and Lux were grateful as it was getting tiring to hear them go back and forth.
"Your Grandma know you're spending the night?" Sasha asked as she draped her arm over Lux's shoulders.
"She's at the casino, and by time she get home she won't check" Lux shrugged.
"So, that's a no?" Sasha chuckled and Lux twisted her mouth.
"I don't want you to get in trouble" Sasha told her, even though Lux never got in trouble.
Sure, her grand mother would make smart remarks here and there but for the most part she was too into herself to run after Lux. And just like Lux expected, only after two weeks did her mother dip off, never to return in the two months that had passed. Lucious was still hanging onto that promise of moving her out her Grand mother's, but as always Lux didn't hold her breath.
