• next day - day of the reaping •
Katniss' POV
I'm in Cinna's house getting ready. He's dressed me in a royal blue dress, just ending after my knees. I have silver 2 inch heels and a royal blue hair clip and silver jewellery. [picture at the start] I then go down to my make up group and they do my make up.
All the victors have to stay hidden for the reaping, I don't even know why. So I stay at Cinna's until I'm told to go.
Peeta's POV
I get dressed in grans and a red checkered shirt and red converse. I make my way to the square and join the boys while the girls go the other side.
The bell rings and Effie comes onto the stage. She taps the mic."Welcome! Welcome, welcome. Happy hunger games! And, may the odds be ever in your favour! Now before we begin! We have a special video brought to you all the way from the Capitol!" she says in a very high pitched cheery capitol voice.

"I just love that!" She says smiling. "Now, the time has come to choose 1 man and woman for the honour to represent District 12 in the anual 80th hunger games!" She pauses. "But before we do, please raise a hand of applause for our victors!" she claps.
The 13 victors come down the walk way with a peaceeeper each side of every one of them. Katniss is the youngest there, being 22 so she's first out. She doesn't look scared at all, but anger.
Our group watch Katniss all the way down, Haymitch is behind her; him being her uncle and all. They go up onto the stage, theres 7 men on the men side and 6 women on the women side. All the men have their arms over each other's shoulders and the women hold hands.
"Now, today we will be selecting one man and one women, whatever district they won under they will be representing, then they will travel to their district for their partner to be chosen" she says.
"Men first" she says and walks over to the mens bowl. She picks out a slip and walks back to the mic.
"James Hardwood, District Five" she says.
My heart skipps a beat it's not Haymitch. All them men let out a big breath they must have been holding in. The man who must be James walks over to Effie and stands by the side but just behind her.
"Now for the women" she says and walks over to the womens bowl. She picks a slip and walks back to the centre and opens it then sighs.
"Katniss Everdeen, District Twelve"
She walks to the centre and stands next to Effie on the other side but a little behind.
"Please welcome, out victors chosen for this years Hunger Games!" she says clapping.
It stays silent then everyone does the three finger gesture.
The rest of the victors exit at the back doors while James and Katniss get escorted back down with two peacekeepers either side of both of them just in case.
They walk down, Katniss looks at nothing, she doesn't look at anyone but infront of her. James looks back and forth to each sides of the crowd.
We all get let go and we all meet and see of we can find Katniss.
