"You're kidding with me, aren't you?" I started laughing awkwardly.
"We're definitely not," The Luna Queen said with seriousness. I still don't want to accept that they are my real parents.
I stood up abruptly and surprised Klaus a little. I'm just a little angry. How could they abandon their own daughter?
"Please sit down. Let us explain," The Alpha King tried to stop me.
What do I have to lose if I stay here? I don't have any homework anyway.
I sighed and took my seat.
"Okay so what questions do you have? We'll start explaining from there," The Luna Queen smiled at me.
"Erm," I fidgeted," Why did you abandon me in the first place? Why only me but not both Klaus and I?"
The smile on Luna Queen's face immediately dropped," We didn't abandon you, Kathe-Alaysieh, we sent you for adoption. We had to do that as the werewolf part in you is just 35%, it's supposed to be at least 75%. We can't let you live in the werewolf world, especially as a royal. Klaus is 80% wolf, so he is allowed to live in the werewolf world."
I nodded slowly, taking everything in.
"And you can't shift fully into a wolf. Instead you can only shift halfway, with the claws, ears fangs and tail only." The Alpha King added.
"So how does Klaus know that I'm his twin?"
"We told Klaus about a week ago," The Luna Queen said," We heard rumors among packs about a new girl that looked like him, and I thought it was you."
"Okay, so why are you telling me about this if you didn't want me to know about it?" I asked curiously.
"A pack living here found two dead bodies in a forest," It was Klaus's turn to say," And they had a famous hunter's mark on them. We were afraid that the hunter realises what you are and try to kill you."
Oh. So they were informed about the rogue bodies that i had killed the other day.
"Oh..." I said softly.
"Wait, so how do you know about werewolves?" Klaus squinted his eyes suspiciously.
I gulped. Great now I have to say another lie.
"I- erm," I rubbed the back of my neck.
"I can smell that you are nervous." Klaus said.
I gulped again," Nervous? What are you talking about? I'm not nervous!"
"Okay... I'm going to let this slip but you still owe me an explanation for this in the future."
I sighed in relief. At least I have more time to think of an excuse to give to Klaus the detective.
"So where do you live now?" The Alpha King asked.
"In an apartment near the school," I answered simply and just shrugged.
"You can move in here, since you already know that you're in the royal family," Alpha King said.
My eyes widened," No, Alpha King, there's no need for that! I'm okay with living in the apartment."
I can't abandon my weapons just like that! But if I bring them along, they would know what I am!
"Call me 'Dad'. 'Alpha King' sounds too formal for my own daughter."
"Dad," I said softly, clicking my tongue.
It sounds quite right.
"Why wouldn't you want to move in with us, Alaysieh?" Mum asked.
Oh damn it.
I debated with myself on whether to tell them the truth or not.
If I tell them, they would abandon me again, wouldn't they?
If I don't tell them, I would be lieing to them again and I don't want to!
"I'm lazy to move," I blurted out. Damn it! Sometimes, I just say whatever comes up in my mind without even filtering.
"Pack members can help you!" Klaus said.
Wow thanks for the help, bro. Now I need to find another excuse, just because of your big mouth.
"I like living in my apartment," I said," It's convenient as it's near school. And anyways, I don't think I fit in here."
"Okay then, inform me if you change your mind," Mum replied.
I sighed inwardly and smiled at Mum appreciatively. Thank the Moon Goddess.
