he has chosen his girl.

most of his friends have already chosen theirs and got the poor fools walking on air over the fact that they have a date with the most attractive guys at school. all of them think they have a good chance of winning the dogfight and cannot wait to parade around their "dates" to try and win the cash prize of all the money the guys are putting in. ethan and grayson are the only ones in the group who haven't gotten a girl to take yet, for them getting some stupid outcast to take them seriously when they ask has been proven difficult. ethan has been turned down four times already, which comes as a shock to him, but he hopes to score a winner with rey.

"i've got mine" he hears his brother say behind him, ethan turns around and there stands grayson, smirking with pride and his eyebrow raised in a fixed expression of victory. "you've got a dog for the fight?" ethan asks him tilting his head, grayson nods and slides his tongue against his pearly white teeth, "and boy is she a dog bro" he laughs shaking his head.

"well dont leave me guessing dude, whose the lucky lady?" ethan rolls his eyes at his brother who mock zips his lips shut, "you'll have to wait and see eth....wait and see whatever messy bitch you drag to the fight is gonna lose to" grayson gives him a wink before leaving his brother in the hallway. ethan stares after his brother shaking his head, grayson was always the more arrogant of the twins and it did get on ethan's nerves a lot of the time. grayson had no trouble with girls but sometimes they caused trouble for ethan, like how he got hardly any sleep for a month when gray would screw this girl every night and every night try and make her scream his name louder than the one before.

now he realises he has to one up his brother and get the oddest girl he can to come to the dogfight with him. the look of defeat and shock on grayson's face acts as a motivation for him, he's gonna find rey banks and woo her into going on what she thinks is a date with him, hopefully helping him win the dogfight.

all he has to do is find her, he thinks for a moment about where the outcasts go when they're not getting harassed by him and his friends. they normally hide like rats in classrooms, sitting in circles near the trash cans outside since all the over kids and pushed them over there, some would spend all of lunch in the toilets because they had no where to go and no one to be with. ethan pulls his sleeves up as he finds himself walking up to the art department which is where he spots some of them scurrying to when they need to hide. the cool kids didn't hang out there, they could go where ever they wanted but the art rooms weren't good enough for them, not their style.

ethan walks down the halls covered in bizarre and abstract paintings, eyes are falling on him and not just the ones in the portraits, the outcasts are staring at him in disbelief."what's he doing here?" he hears one whisper, his voice shaking which makes ethan scoff with pride, "I hate him...he's so....so intimidating" another squeaks and ethan holds back a cruel and mocking laugh. he has so much power here, a popular strutting in the pushed aside zone, he was a king and they were his peasants.

just as he loses track of what he's doing and why he's here, he spots her. she's sitting on a table alone near the blank canvases, her back to him and her figure bent. ethan smirks as his eyes travel up and down her, sizing her up, it was like she was unsuspecting prey in the jungle and he was the predator at the top of the food chain and he was ready to attack.

he looks at rey a little closer, paying attention to her movements, it looks like she's scribbling something on paper. whatever it is isn't ethan's concern but instead it's striking up a conversation with her to ask her out....to the dogfight.

it should be easy for him, he's ethan dolan, able to make girls shake just by standing within their radius, he can do this.

he takes in a breath before stepping forward, if he had paid any attention to his surroundings he would have seen the stack of canvas stand close to him, the silence in the room is ruined by the sound of the stands clashing together onto the floor.
