ethan's mind has been all over the place since last weekend, it's filled with thoughts of her and the way she makes him feel suddenly but then it jumps back to his friends and the cruel bet he has made. the two situations crashing against each other continuously makes his chest twist and head ache. things have gotten too serious now and ethan knows he has to stop this, he has to call off this stupid little game his peers are finding enjoyment in and tell rey how he really feels.

that he has feelings for her and he wants to be with her.

he walks with his head high in the hallway towards grayson and the twins' friends, all of them laughing obnoxiously as they mock a group of outcasts near by. ethan's lip curls at the sight, being with rey has opened his eyes to how he and his friends act and he's disgusted by it...by them. he can't wait to call this whole bet off so he can be with rey and be happy for once. "s'up asshole" nate grins when he sees the oldest dolan approach the gang, his eyes narrow and face cold, only responding to his friend's greeting with a curt nod.

"whats with the face dolan?" jack asks, looking ethan up and down with an arched brow. "yeah dude...your face looks like a kicked ass" jake comments as he nudges ethan's shoulder. ethan inhales and reads through what hes going to say in his head, bracing himself for the outraged reaction he's going to be met with. just as he's about to start, grayson mentions her.

"wideload finally starting to wear you down with her boring ass?".

ethan's pulse races by the girl he likes being spoken about in such a harsh way, a sour taste seeps into his mouth as he watches his brother and friends splutter into laughter by grayson's ignorant remark. ethan decides to bring their childish antics to a halt by one simple statement.

"i'm calling the bet off".

his friends all stop laughing suddenly and look at him with wide confused eyes, ethan just stares at them confidently, not surprised by their shocked faces. "w....what the fuck? why?" nate asks him, "yeah eth....why the fuck would you wanna call it off now?" cameron adds. "you giving up?" grayson asks with a hint of a smug expression "you can't stand being around her anymore?". ethan's eyes burn into his brothers and he shakes his head, "opposite actually". the boys look more confused than before by ethan's response, their simply brains rushing to figure out what he means. grayson gets there first and he feels as if he's going to suddenly wake up from an outrageously impossible dream.

"dont...dont tell me you actually...like her?" his voice shaking from disbelief.

his question causes jaws to drop along the group, all of them look sharply to ethan in confusion and await him to deny it as that possibly cant be whats happening. but it is. ethan's eyes scan across his friends' perplexed faces before nodding, confirming gray's suspicion. the younger twin just laughs harshly, "nah....no you're just fucking with us, you piece of shit theres no way you actually....". "like rey?" ethan interrupts him to avoid hearing more insults directed towards rey "yeah I do and thats why I cant do this shit any more". grayson and the guys are lost for words at this rate, their eyes blinking at what their friend is saying. grayson's eyes narrow and his lip curls, "how? how could a guy like you honestly like a freak like that?".

"shes not a freak" ethan borderline yells "she's not a freak or a loser or some joke for you to laugh at and if I catch any of you assholes talking about her like that ever again, I'm gonna kick the living shit out of you and thats the only warning you're gonna get". ethan tries to calm his heaving chest as he doesn't want to explode in the middle of school like this, mostly because rey might see. "you serious about this?" grayson asks lowly, looking at his brother in disgust and disappointment. "the most serious ive ever been about anything" ethan answers confidently "this stupid fucking bet is over and we're never gonna talk about it again".
