third date
waiting outside for you doll x
rey smiles softly as she reads the message ethan has just sent her, she slides her phone back into her pocket and slips on her converse, she then opens her front door to see ethan waiting ouside of his truck. he, as per usual, looks absolutely gorgeous; his muscular body covered with a loosely fit red tank top, dark washed jeans and basketball style sneakers. his eyes trail up to meet rey and he grins, the sight still makes rey's heart melt and she returns his smile with one thats even bigger. "hey rey" ethan says to her as she starts to walk up to him, taking in her appearance, "you look cute". rey stops at his words and looks down at herself, she tried to make somewhat of an effort for tonight's date to impress ethan but her style doesn't branch out that much. her attire for tonight consists of a light blue blouse that belongs to her mother and the pair of ripped jeans she always wears. nothing that special.
she can still feel ethan's eyes on her so she looks up and smiles, "thanks" she mumbles and runs a hand through her loose hair, the curls springing back into place effortlessly; a small but satisfying detail which ethan notices and finds himself smiling at it. "so lets get going" he then grins, opening the passenger door for rey before walking over to his door. he smirks to himself thinking about the way rey was looking at him, the effect he clearly has on her, how she's lost for words just by being in his very presence. as harsh as it sounds, ethan feels as if he'll be able to fly through this bet if thats how rey acts around him, its an ego booster to him.
"so whats the plan for tonight?" rey asks him, stretching her seat belt over her torso and looking over to ethan. "you heard about the 'sweetheart's festival'?" ethan asks cooly as a response, arching his eyebrow and smirking; all practised moves to help with his act. "yeah...." rey replies slowly, she's heard talk about the carnival thats going to be in town tonight, its targeted towards couples but anyone can go. she'd never expect ethan to take her there however, they aren't anywhere close to being an official couple, they may not even get to that point. "well there you go, thats the plan for tonight doll" ethan gently nudges rey's cheek with his knuckle, she smiles at his action and its stays there as she watches him start the car to drive off. the first few minutes of the drive are silent, mostly because ethan's concentrating on driving and rey's concentrating on how good he looks while doing it. she takes in the way his hazel eyes narrow down on specific points, his tongue poking out at times and his chiselled jaw clenching. when you're someone as attractive as ethan dolan, you look good doing anything.
ethan furrows his brows as he feels rey's eyes on him and averts his gaze from the road to her, she quickly snaps her head forward so she's looking at the road ahead, trying to hide her brief admiration of him. that smirk creeps onto ethan's lips again, he finds it cute that rey can't help but look at him, who can blame her?

bright lights illuminating against the purple sky, upbeat chiming music from all around and the smell of funnel cake alongside other sweet treats. the funfair is bursting with energy and joy. rey stares at the scene through the entrance, her face glowing with excitement like a small child, people of all ages are running around to go on rides and try all the foods, she can feel the eccentric atmosphere reaching her. "wow" she whispers as ethan stands by her side, not experiencing the same reaction of delight as rey is since he's only perceiving being here in one way; co-operating with the guidelines of an immature bet.
"yeah, it looks pretty dope" ethan offers with a simple shrug, rey smiles as her eyes scan over the attractions in the fair, the warm air brushing against her cheek. "I haven't been to one of these in so long" rey mentions, her parents would bring her to local carnivals every year and she loved it; the beautiful lights, the sweet taste of all the foods, going on the rides with her dad. eventually the annual outing came to a gradual halt since things in rey's life changes. the bitter sweet memories play in her head, bringing a small smile to her face but also a slight pang in her chest. ethan notices the slightly doleful look on rey's face and flinches, confused as to why she suddenly looks sad but rey is currently deep in her own thoughts to even notice ethan's insensitive reaction. "well we gonna just stand here gawking at it or we gonna go have some fun babe?" ethan asks sarcastically and starts to walk up to the main entrance, rey shakes her head to clear the memories before jogging up to join the boy. ethan purchases two tickets for rey and him, he hands one to rey and the two become surrounded by the atmosphere of the carnival.
