the car pulls up to the place, all of ethan's friends have already arrived with their dates and are playing music and laughing inside, ethan turns the engine off then looks over at rey sitting in the passenger seat next to him. "here we are" he grins at her and she smiles back, her eyes glance over to the house and she bites her lip, the nerves are starting to hit her at the thought of everyone inside dancing and having fun, something she doesn't know too much about.

"okay so lets go" ethan says unbuckling his seat belt and opening his door, rey waits for a few moments, staying in her seat and clutching her hands together in her lap. ethan takes note of how she hasn't joined him yet and leans down to look at her through the window, he gives her a small smile and gestures his head in the direction of the house, signalling her to come out. rey takes a deep breath and hops out, straightening her dress out then walks up to ethan. "you okay there doll?" he asks wrapping an arm around her waist which takes rey by surprise but she guesses this is what happens on dates with cute boys like ethan. the two step closer to the front door and rey's stomach clenches more and more, "hold on a second ethan" she quickly says putting her hand up to him to get him to stop and he does, looking at her. "I....I don't know if I can...." rey mumbles, struggling to find the right words without looking like a huge baby, "don't be nervous doll,its okay" ethan cuts her off smiling at her like she's a little girl "just stay with me the whole night and you'll be okay".

even though she doesn't really know much about her date other than he's one of the most popular and lusted after boys at school, something about ethan's smile reassures and comforts rey, its just so irresistible and promising. It makes her feel like her favourite song does or when she looks up at the starry sky after a long hard day of being bullied and ridiculed by the kids at school. he was so beautiful, why was he taking her on a date of all people?

there she goes again, bringing herself down and being negative, ethan wouldn't like her doing that.

rey soon realises that her and ethan are standing right outside the front door, ethan knocks on it and it immediately opens, revealing his friend cameron. the two boys grin at each other, "ethan my man!" cameron yells enthusiastically, rey can smell the alcohol on his breath and she squints at it. "What up cam?" ethan grins and the two high five, cameron's eyes fall on rey and scan her up and down, "so here's your little lady" he smirks and rey gives him a small smile while ethan puts his arm around her again and pulls her close. "yep this is rey banks" ethan introduces her and cameron bites his lip looking at his friend, something about the look makes rey uneasy, she doesn't know why. "come on in and join the party" cameron says and leads the two in, ethan walks in confidently and rey follows behind him. as they walk down the hallway she can hear the music and voices growing louder, rey's heart picks up pace as she inches nearer and nearer to the living room where everyone must be, she considers slipping her hand into ethan's for comfort but quickly snaps it to her side in fear of seeming too clingy too early.

"the big man's finally here bitches!" Cameron announces to his friends when they all walk in, the boys all cheer and grin at the sight of ethan and his date, he gives high fives and fist pumps all around while rey stays back, nervous. "well introduce us to the little lady" jack smirks eyeing rey up, ethan looks back to her, eager to show off the dog he has brought to the fight. "this is rey" he tells them snaking his strong arm around rey's waist, he winks and raises an eyebrow which rey does not notice, his friends all look at her and nod their heads at ethan. "nice dress Rey" grayson tells her and jake holds back a laugh, "t...thank you...." rey clears her throat as her voice omissions, ethan's arm drops from her waist and she misses the warmth but ethan has gone to sit down with his friends and their dates. "come on rey" he smiles at her "come sit with me", he pats the space next to him and rey smiles before stumbling over to have a seat next to her date. she sits down a little too eagerly and half of her lands on jake, "easy there tiger" he laughs "try not to take up too much room now". the other boys laugh and rey feels the heat rising to her skin and she looks down, ethan looks at her and bites his lip, she looks so small next to him and his friends, kind of nervous yet....cute.
