It had taken Jacob three long years. Three years of patience, uncertainty, and yearning before Aniya finally agreed to become his girlfriend. They had spent those years navigating their individual lives, dealing with their complicated emotions, and finding their way back to each other after the many bumps they faced along the way. But when she finally said yes, it was everything Jacob had dreamed of. He felt on top of the world, as though he had finally found his place beside her, the person he had always wanted to be with.
Then came the issue of marriage. Jacob had always pictured himself as the one to propose, imagining the perfect moment when he would ask Aniya to be his wife, in a way that reflected how much he loved her. But fate had a different plan. Five years ago, just as their relationship seemed to be in full bloom, Aniya took that moment from him. Without warning, and without any sign that she was planning it, she knelt down in front of him one evening, ring in hand, and proposed to him instead. It was the happiest, most surprising moment of his life, and one that Jacob still found hard to believe sometimes. But he loved her more than anything, and so, without hesitation, he accepted.
That was five years ago, and their life together had only become richer, fuller, and more rewarding since then. The years had flown by, and now they were married, with children of their own, living the life they had always dreamed of. It wasn't always easy, but it was always worth it.
