Aniya stood by the stove, focused on frying the vegetables while Seth chopped them beside her. Emily hovered nearby, clearly torn between supervising and trying to shoo them out of the kitchen. Despite her protests, both Seth and Aniya had been stubbornly insistent on helping, leaving Emily no choice but to give in with a sigh.
As Seth passed another batch of chopped vegetables to Aniya, he turned to her curiously. "Hey, Aniya, did you hear about Juliet's parents?"
Aniya hummed softly, nodding her head as she flipped the sizzling vegetables in the pan. "Yeah, I kind of figured they'd leave. John and Cordelia aren't the type to stay in one place for too long." She paused, glancing at Seth. "But I'll admit, I'm really surprised they let Juliet stay behind."
Seth frowned slightly, tilting his head in confusion. "Really? Why's that?"
Aniya smiled faintly, her tone thoughtful as she answered. "They're just... really protective of her. Not in a bad way, but they've always been a little overbearing when it comes to making sure she's safe. Letting her stay on her own? That's a big leap for them." She stirred the vegetables, the aroma filling the room. "But maybe they finally realized she's capable of handling herself. I mean, Juliet's pretty strong when it comes to making her own choices."
