after hearing the news seonghwa had walked hwayoung home, the two were currently sat in her living room. seonghwa stroked his fingers through her hair in order to calm her down, which he seemed to have succeeded in as she had fell asleep. her head resting on his chest.

he looked down at her for a short while, taking in all her features. the freckles littering her cheeks to the way her skin looked in the soft glow of the lights surrounding them.

this way quickly cut short by a group of six boys walking into the apartment, one of which being hwayoung's brother who, after seeing hwayoung asleep on soenghwa's chest, shushed his friends and picked hwayoung up. taking her to her bedroom.

he returned not long after, seonghwa getting up and being ready to leave, dongmin following him to the door.

before seonghwa could leave, dongmin spoke, "thanks for being there for hwayoung, she texted me earlier about it."

seonghwa nodded. "no problem, we were supposed to be meeting today anyways."

dongmin smiled, not a full bright smile, but more one that said all that was needed to say before seonghwa walked out and back to his own apartment.

he couldn't stop thinking about what had happened.

---

{a few hours prior}

hwayoung had been ecstatic that day when she got home from school, excitement pouring out her ears, almost. as she got in she changed into something more comfortable, a cropped navy jumper and a pair of black denim shorts as it was quite warm.

because she still had a bit of time before she met with seonghwa she decided to let her bunnies out of their cage for a run around the garden, then making herself a green tea.

she scrolled through her phone for a few minutes, while drinking her tea, before placing her mug in the sink so she could wash it later when she got back.

after this she quickly ran up to her room, grabbing a bag quickly before heading out the door, locking it behind her.

as she was walking down the road, just as she left her house, she passed by a dark figure. a man, taller than her, wearing all black. this made hwayoung slightly suspicious of the man as who would wear all black on a nice day.

she walked for a few more minutes a sudden realisation hit her that she had left her bunnies running around the garden, alone.

rushing back to her apartment complex, she sprinted up the stairs, fumbling with her keys before managing to get into the apartment. she dumped her bag down, walking out her garden door and onto the patio that lay before her.

stopping in her tracks she looked around, carefully scanning the grass, but nothing could be seen. the bunnies had disappeared from sight.

"chubbs? tiger? prince?" she called out to the three bunnies, but to no avail they were nowhere to be seen.

hwayoung didn't know how to react, everything else slipping from her mind. her supposed meeting with seonghwa forgotten for the moment. all she could think about was what was going to happen now? would they get back safely? who even took them in the first place?

slowly her vision went blurred, tears making their way down her cheeks. she sat, sobbing on the grass. time passing slowly, almost not at all.

after a few minutes she got up, walking back through the apartment and leaving her bag. she went out the door locking it again, practically running down the road to the police station nearby.

the tears still streaming from her face.

as she made it to the police station, the sun was setting behind her. she walked in and over to the nearest officer. "excuse me?"

it was a male officer, tall and muscular. may seem quite scary if you didn't know him, however he was a friend of hwayoung's brother so she had talked to him enough to know he has one of the kindest hearts out there.

"ah hwayoung, whats wrong?" the male officer asked, placing a hand on her shoulder trying to calm her down.

"w-wonho, someone s-stole the b-b-bunnies" she almost whispered, wonho caught it though pulling her into a hug.

"don't worry we'll find them, you should get home its getting late." hwayoung nodded, leaving the station.

she wandered slowly for a while, thinking, before remembering her date thing with seonghwa.

she began to feel bad, making her cry even more, as she ran towards the cafe as fast as she could. stopping a few times as she got out of breath before eventually making it, the tears still streaming down her face. every situation sinking in.

she ran into the cafe to greet a wide eyed seonghwa.

---

seonghwa shown up to school the next day, ready to comfort the girl and shield her from whatever the girls would normally throw at her.

however she wasn't there.

nor was she there for the next two days, and eventually it was friday evening. she was supposed to be working with yeosang, but she had called in sick that day and the next day too.

seonghwa was scared, every time he showed up to her house her brother said she didn't want any visitors.

despite the gloomy feeling that was following everyone around after news of the small animals being serial-kidnapped, a new pet store was opening up. san had somehow managed to drag seonghwa into it one afternoon while they had been free.

he didn't understand why san was so excited about the store, but went with him anyways.

when they went in the store was quite empty, the younger male at the counter seeming to be the only other person in with them.

the pets in the store were all cute, there were different areas dedicated to different animals. being curious seonghwa walked over the area with rabbits and bunnies as san checked out the kittens on the other side of the store.

some of them were cute, but he couldn't help but notice a feeling of familiarity when he looked at three of the bunnies in particular.

after staring at them for a few more minutes the realisation suddenly hit,

"excuse me? could I buy these three bunnies here?"
