A loud thunder followed by flashes of lightning made the people inside the airport squeal in terror. Everything outside can be vividly seen from the huge pale windows, and no one’s enjoying such sight. Cancelled flights, angry people, and flooded roads.
“Can this get any worse?” Bom mumbled and then saw a man walk inside the room. “Fuck fate.” She mumbled after being reminded that she’s actually stuck here with her ex-fiancé.
“I know right?” Chae muttered beside her.
The airport lent them a huge room to stay for a while. Hindi sila pwede sa labas dahil pagkaka-guluhan sila lalo na ngayon at stranded sila dito. It was a huge conference room and there’s nothing but couches for them to sit on.
“Awfully awkward,” Bom replied while looking at Seungri on the other side and spacing out. Hindi n’ya alam kung bakit kahit nasa loob na ‘to ay naka-tinted shades pa din ‘to. She can’t believe Seungri’s still sassy after all these years.
“Your fault,” bintang sa kanya ni Chae.
“Wow,” Bom dramatically breathed. “You and Seungri did this.”
“We’re not each other’s ex-fiance,” Chae retorted.
“I know right? So why you acting as if you two just got a fresh divorce, huh?”
“Shut up, Unnie!”
“You’re being ridiculous,” irap ni Bom bago mas yakapin ang sarili gamit ang jacket na suot.
“Why is this happening? Napaka-bullshit.” Chae vented her frustration on the wall beside them.
Bom caught Seunghyun looking at her before he looked away. She sighed before deciding to just look outside.
“I don’t know… I just want to go home,”
“We’re seriously spending New Year here?”
“Unless we want to walk from here to the hotel?”
“Why not?”
“Bago ka makarating don, it’s either tinamaan ka na ng kidlat o tinangay ng baha, Lee Chaerin.”
Chae grunted. “I’m seriously suing this airport for moving our flights today,”
“I’m with you,” Bom got up from her seat. “I’ll just call Dara.”
“Do it here.”
“Mahina ‘yung signal,” She checked the bar. “And I’ll be asking for the wifi password.”
“Ask your manager to do that for you, Unnie,”
“Why if I can do it for myself?” she started walking away, but what’s in her mind was to really just get away in that room. Tahimik lang ang lahat at sobrang awkward dahil sa hindi malamang dahilan pero siguradong dahil ‘to kay Chaerin at Seungri na akala mo hindi magka-kilala noong pumasok dito kanina. She can’t blame the people inside immersed in their own bubble now.
Or does people know something she doesn’t?
She doesn’t know anymore.
“Bom?” tawag ng manager n’ya sa kanya bago s’ya maka-labas.
“I’ll ask for the wifi,” paalam n’ya.
Tumayo ‘to mula sa kinauupuan. “Stay here, ako na ang magtatanong,”
