I stare at a reflection of myself, but it isn't the present me.
A loud scream echoes like a siren,
A piercing static, a thousand voices
I cover my ears but the voices are in my head,
It hurts, my head hurts.
I shout, as loud as I can, my voice breaks and the mirror shatters.
I look back towards my broken reflection,
My eyes are dark, causing me to stumble back.

I take a deep breath, the vertigo suddenly leaving.
Finally the sounds fade away.
I smile to the person in the mirror,
A younger me, smiling back.
With a reminder and an unusual comfort,
I walk away from the broken mirror.
I walk away from the voices.
