The not-so-suicidal jumper || Chapter 11- A date with Carter
--Maddy's POV--
"Hiya Maddy," Carter smiled.
It was 4 in the morning and I was sitting on the tyre swing outside, trying to clear my mind. Clearly it was harder than I thought when every thought was running through my head.
"Hey." I kept my voice blank, as a sign that I wanted to be left alone, but Carter still didn't go- which I know is probably better to keep my sanity.
"Are you okay?" He sat on a rock beside me, and I stared at him emotionlessly.
"Am I okay? Do I look okay Carter! Because I'm not okay at all. Would you be okay if one little thing fucked up your whole life? As soon as I jumped from that building I stuffed everything up, I killed my own mother, made my father a mental guy on a rampage, left my friends without an explanation and murdered hundreds in the skyscraper along with my ex! No Carter, I was never okay!"
A smile twitched it's way up his lips. "I'm taking you out, no excuses." He stretched out his hand.
I sighed and took it, smiling softly. I don't know what I would do if he hadn't of come right at that moment.
"Where are we going?" I looked up and I noticed he was staring at our intwined hands.
"Where do you want to go?"
"Tree surfing!" I giggled and Carter smiled from my excitement.
We went straight away, since my rolled up light wash denim skinny jeans, combat boots, random band tee and leather jacket was suitable enough.
"How far away is the nearest tree surfing?" I asked.
"Only 5 minutes away from here."
I smiled at the dark haired boy. I took out my mascara and let down the mirror in the passenger seat. I went to unscrew the top of the mascara when Carter's hand blocked my way.
"Don't. You already look amazing without it. Makeup just takes away your natural beauty."
I turned towards him and laughed.
"You've got to be kidding!" I continued using the makeup and Carter grinned.
"I'm serious though."
We pulled into the car park and I squealed with joy.
"How well can you tree surf?" Carter asked and I threw a smirk his way, my eyes sparkling mischievously.
"The real question is how well can you tree surf?"
Carter muttered something under his breath and followed me into the building. After Carter paid- because he wouldn't let me even when I insisted- we put on the safety harnesses and hooked them on to the first part of the hardest course.
I quickly walked along the obstacles, staring far down at the ground below. I glanced back to notice that Carter was hobbling along slower and messier. It was obvious he had tree surfed before but maybe not in a while.
Since Carter was still fairly far away, I had a brilliant idea.
I unhooked my harness and threw it aside- which was the ground. I smiled at Carter and his eyes widened.
I stood on the wire cautiously, and did a simple flip. A couple of heads turned my way and I proudly bowed.
"Young lady! What are you doing?! That's very dangerous!" A man shouted and I raised my eyebrow at him.
"I'm not professional or anything but I know quite a few things."
I preformed a double back flip and landed in the splits on the one wire. Then I did a handspring into a handstand, which I made into a cartwheel.
