The not-so-suicidal jumper || Chapter 15- Fortune Cookies
--Maddy's POV--
"Why are we going to a Chinese Restaurant in Thailand?" Emma scrunched up her nose and I chuckled.
"I don't know, ask the boy- they are the ones that wanted to go."
Emma looked over to the boys who were chatting intensely about something, and she turned back to me.
"Oh well."
My car pulled up at the restaurant and Carter and Jack ran out in a hurry. I shook my head at them.
"Why are you so ecstatic to eat dinner?" They turned and grinned.
"Tonight is eat all you can night, and you can get free fortune cookies!"
I followed them inside and the Asian waiter gestured us over to a nice candle lit table.
"What can I get for you?" He asked and I stared at the menu.
"Just some rice and noodles please," I replied and Emma nodded, ordering the same.
"I'm guessing you want the all you can eat separate menus?" He turned to the guys and they greedily nodded and licked their lips.
The food came surprisingly fast, considering there were people everywhere since this is fairly well known.
I smiled at my fortune cookie as I cracked it. The paper slid out and I opened it.
I know about the rape
My eyes widened and I scrunched the paper up and put it in my pocket. I grabbed my second one.
I will find you Maddy
I did the same to this one and grabbed the third. I swear in dreaming.
You will be mine
Fourth.
I will make you my queen
Fifth.
You can't escape me, I'm always watching you
I breathed out and started hyperventilating. I stared at the fifth one again and I blinked but it was still there. I wasn't dreaming. This is real.
I started shaking uncontrollably and Emma noticed, a worried look across her face.
"Maddy! What happened?" She said calmly and I pulled out the five papers and I threw them her way.
She gestured for the guys to look and they stared at the slips of paper angrily.
"Let's get you out of here." I shook my head, and breathed deeply.
"No no. I said that I wanted to forget the rape and this is just bringing it back up."
I started eating my food and I put the papers back in my pocket. Once I finished the bowl of rice, I gasped at the message on the bottom of the empty bowl.
I'm watching you right now
My hair flipped over my shoulder as I turned my head sideways. There was nothing out of the ordinary, and definitely no one I knew was there.
I ate my noodles with caution, but I wasn't surprised when another note was scribbled on the bottom of this bowl.
Your friends can't always protect you
I gritted my teeth and stood up. Jack, Carter and Emma stared at me but I stormed over to one of the closest workers.
"I demand to see your boss," I said and she nodded confusingly and led me through the kitchen and to the boss's office.
He looked up and smiled.
"Hello?"
"Hi, my names Maddy. I want to complain because I found threatening notes in the fortune cookies and on the bottom of my rice and noodle bowl."
"Threatening notes?" He looked deep in thought. "What type of threatening notes?"
"They were like I knew the person.." I spread the messages over his desk and he studied them carefully.
"These aren't the papers we use. Ours are more transparent and are definitely more expensive." He glanced up at me.
"So.. You're saying that someone came in dressed as one of your kitchen workers and printed on the bowls and paper and made sure they were the ones that were handed to me."
He nodded and my eyes widened. I dashed out of the room yelling a thank you behind me and I grabbed the waiter and slammed him against the wall.
"You know about the notes I got don't you!" I hissed and he nodded quickly.
"Yes, I was paid to specially give you those ones, what's wrong?"
"They were threat notes!" I said and he gasped.
"Oh, I'm so sorry. I thought they were marriage letters because those are asked for quite often."
I let go of the man and stood back.
"Who paid you? What did he look like?" I questioned.
"It was a guy, lightish brown hair? I think his name was Jayden?"
I don't know any Jayden..
"Uh, thanks." I walked out and sat back down with my friends. They waited for me to speak.
"It's nothing." I said and they decided not to push me, nodding.
"I'm confused though. At first I thought maybe my father was alive but then when it said you will be mine, I realised it wasn't him. It sounds like someone likes me?"
"Likes you! He's fucking stalking you!" Emma sighed and I nodded.
We all got up and left the restaurant, heading back to the resort.
"Hey um, I need to tell you something Maddy.." Jack whispered and pulled me into the kitchen away from Carter and Emma.
"Yeah?" I questioned and he smiled.
"It's fairly obvious I liked you.." I nodded, because it really was.
"But I just wanted to say that I'm completely over it, and I'm going to stand by you with all of your choices in guys. I just hope we can remain friends."
I stared at him for a few seconds before I squealed and launched myself into his arms.
"Of course we will stay friends! Thank you so much though for admitting this. It makes me so happy!"
"I can see that," he chuckled and I let go of his torso and walked out of the room.
"We should probably all pack now, since we are leaving Thailand tomorrow," I suggested and everyone agreed, and Emma and I walked to our shared room.
"Carter and I heard the conversation between you and Jack. I'm glad that you guys sorted everything out. It was kinda awkward beforehand, " Emma smiled and I replied with the same gesture.
"Yeah so am I."
Emma and I stopped packing when we heard a "What the fuck!" From Carter in the living room.
We walked out and I let out a giggle.
Jack was sitting back on the couch grinning with a blonde bimbo in minimum clothing dancing around. Carter was standing out with wide eyes as a honey brunette touched all over him.
The Prostitutes gave Emma and I a dirty look, and hiding my smile I turned and went back into our room.
