Yay, an early upload! I just wanted to thank my readers for the support, although there isn't much, lol. I didn't expect to get any reads, let alone 14, so thank you all for that. The next chapter will be up around the 16th probably, since I'm feeling so weirdly motivated right now. Please vote and follow me if you feel like it, thank you, and here's chapter 2!

"Get," You were shoved backwards as Tony stood up, pushing you behind him. "The hell," He growled at Loki, who was remaining calm. "Out of my-" Tony was cut sharp by Thor, who raised his hand to stop Tony from going any farther.

"I know that you don't like him," Thor began, trying to reason with the whole room, most of which looked a little bit less than happy. "But we-" He was cut off by a seething mad Clint who looked like he was using all of his strength not to rush at Loki and kill him right there.

"Don't like? Don't like doesn't even begin to cover it!" He yelled. "Nothing begins to cover it! If you think that for even a second, I'll get within a foot of that monster, or let him near anyone in this tower, so help me-"

"Clint," Natasha appeared behind him and gently grabbed his arm. "Let Thor speak," Nat was good at hiding emotion, so no one knew what she really felt about Loki, although you guessed that she was as, if not more angry than Clint was. You had a few memories of Loki, you had never met him personally, Tony wouldn't let you near him when he was in New York, which, granted, wasn't a lot of time. You were barely a teenager back then, and had just moved into what was then the Stark Tower when Loki attacked. Tony kept you inside the basement during the battle, but you had seen the footage, and most importantly, you had seen the aftermath. Loki's face wasn't the same as it was on the newscasts, or in the way the team had described it, though. They failed to capture the look in his eyes of both mischief and sadness, and most importantly, they didn't even come close to capturing how handsome he was. Wait- what?

"Thank you," Thor was not at all his usual self, which was justified, given the story he had just told. You had the feeling that it was also partially because Loki would be staying at the Tower, which was sure to be.. interesting, to say the least. "We hope that you all will accept his staying here, as well as mine," Clint opened his mouth to speak but was stopped by Thor again. "And I hope that you will realize that he has changed," Tony took a deep breath and sat back down next to you.

"I need a minute for this," He turned to each of the original six and then to Loki. "You all. Reindeer Games as well. Stay here. We're talking about this. Everyone else can go, if they want to," Surprisingly, the rest of the team left, supposedly not ones for drama, or they just didn't know enough to care. You stayed, hoping to have a say in the conversation, although you usually never did. "Y/n," Tony turned to you. "Head to your room, kiddo," He leaned in and gave you a hug before patting your back, his own way of telling you to leave. You gave an exasperated sigh and left the room, stomping angrily through the hallway until you reached your bed and fell down onto it. It wasn't fair. It was never fair. You were old enough to be a technical part of the team, and really, you almost were, but there was no use in arguing about anything. Tony would never listen, and even if he did, the rest of the team would probably object to you being in the room as well. You sighed and turned over in your bed, clutching your pillow to your chest, it's soft fabric feeling cool on your bare arms. You couldn't hear a thing from the living room, so trying to eavesdrop would have no effect. You grabbed the first Hunger Games book from your bedside table and opened it up to read. It was one of your favorite books, and time really passes by while reading a good book.

"Why?!" You were halfway through the second book when you heard Tony yelling right outside your door. "I can, while barely, deal with him living here, but not in this room. Not in a room at all, preferably!" You book marked Catching Fire and set it down, catching a glance at your clock, which read 11:45.

"Thor, I usually don't side with Tony on anything, but I do on this," You recognized Cap's voice as you got up and out of your bed, your socks slightly sliding on the floor. "If Loki's staying in the tower, it most definitely shouldn't be across from her," Her? Was Loki rooming across from Nat? You thought as you pressed your ear to the crack between the wall and the door to get a clearer sound of the conversation. Maybe next to Wanda. You thought, Nat would have something to say about Loki rooming across from her. What other her's are in the tow- oh. Your thoughts were cut short by a realization. There was another her in the tower, and it seems as though the conversation was happening right outside of her door. You leaned in closer and kept listening.

"Out of all the people in this tower, Y/N has the least relation with Loki," Thor spoke. You thought about what he said, only partially agreeing. You had no relation with Loki, you had never fought him, but then again, neither had Vision, or Bucky, or Wanda. You were hardly the best option, especially given that you were in New York during.. well.. that.

"That's hardly a reason!" Tony yelled again. You could practically see the distressed look on his face just by how he sounded. "She's the least powerful of any of us! She has no defenses besides what Natasha's taught her, which wouldn't be anything against him!" No defenses? Ouch, dad, I'm not that defenseless. It was only somewhat true, you didn't really have any powers, and the gadgets you did have you usually kept out of your room. You did hide a pocket knife on your bedside table, something only Nat knew about, because she was the one who recommended it.

"It isn't the only reason, Stark. I told you already that what Loki did to New York was not all his fault, nor all by his will, which you seem to not believe. And you know just as well as I that Y/N could help him, as you have told me, she's already helped everyone on the team." Thor again. It was true that you had helped everyone on the team, from Tony's anxiety to Bruce's anger to Bucky's well, Bucky's everything. But that didn't mean that you could help Loki, because you didn't want to help Loki, you thought. That was a lie. You did. You saw the look in his eyes, even though he tried to hide it, and you wanted to help him join the team. For some bizarre reason, you wanted to spend time with him.

"That's still no reason to room him ACROSS FROM MY DAUGHTER!" Tony was yelling now, so much so that you moved away from the door, in hopes of heading to your bed. Instead, your shirt caught on the door handle, and in a moment of extreme luck, good or bad, opened up the heavy metal door, pulling you with it. You let out a small yelp as the door pulled you backwards right into the middle of the conversation. Loki, who had been standing silently on the outside of the conversation, dashed over right before you hit the ground and grabbed your arm, pulling you up into his chest.

"Please don't fall on the floor." He smiled down at you. "I believe that would be a bit of an issue."

Forgive me for the cliffhanger, I couldn't help it! Writing the beginning for the next chapter should be hell, so forgive bad horrible self if it really sucks. I mentioned it at the start, but I'll say it again here, next chapter will be up on the 16th, and please vote and follow me if you feel like it, and have a wonderful day, my croissant children!
