So I was dead, but I'm back now so let's just get right into it. :)

Loki pulled his face back away from yours, which by now was heated and red, and of course he was smirking.
"A-" You started, quite pathetically. "I, uh- I-" Why are words so difficult? Everything was a blur and a mess, which was something you weren't quite accustomed to feeling. Nothing was making sense, nothing could make sense to you in that one moment. How could it?
"Seems like someone is a bit nervous." Nervous couldn't begin to cover it. "I would have thought you'd be at least a little more composed."
"I should be!" You tried to laugh it off, your face was still hot. "This sort of thing doesn't really happen all that often."
"Well, of course. I doubt getting kissed by a god is something that happens often." He laughed. "That is now an achievement shared by you and my brother's girlfriend. What was her name? Janice? Judy?" You giggled.
"It's Jane." You laughed and stepped away from Loki. "Does this- do you like me too?" You held your breath expectantly.
"Does this mean I like you too?" Loki looked down at you and smiled. "What do you think, kitten?" You blushed again, tempted to hide your face in your hands. You ran forward, still blushing, and gave him a hug, burying your face in his chest. Just for a moment, things seemed alright. Of course, good things never last.
"Hey, y/n are you in here?" It was Tony. Shit. You pushed away from Loki, stepping backwards. "I wanted to talk to you-" You hoped that the situation wasn't obvious. "Reindeer Games." Tony squinted at Loki suspiciously, scowling.
"Hey, dad." You looked to the side, away from both Tony and Loki, crossing your arms. "What do you want?" Maybe it was unfair to be rude, you were still undecided. The only thing you were decided on was wanting Tony to leave.
"Well, we were in the middle of a conversation." You sighed angrily. The conversation was not one that you wanted to finish, you knew what he'd say, and didn't want to hear any of it. "And I thought we should finish it, if you want to."
"Are you actually asking me?" You raised your eyebrow and looked at him. "Or are you just telling me that we're finishing the conversation?" You kept your arms crossed angrily.
"Well," Tony sighed. "If you want to finish the conversation, that's up to you. You're mad, and I don't blame you. So if you don't feel like talking right now, that's ok." You were surprised. You had assumed Tony to be as mad as you were, and were sorely mistaken. Uncrossing your arms, you glanced at Loki. He was nonchalantly looking at Tony. "Anyway! If you want to talk, I'll be in the living room. No pressure, kiddo." Tony smiled and walked out of the room. Out of all the things that had happened today, that might have been one of the most surprising.
"I would recommend you go talk to him." Loki looked over to you. "It is your decision, of course, but in my opinion he seemed very genuine." You sighed and mulled over talking to Tony. You knew that you should, of course, it was just that you didn't really want to, and that was usually reason enough for you to not do something. Maybe that was a bit of bad thing, you thought.
"Yeah, you're probably right." You headed for the exit of the room, your head full of thoughts. Maybe it was fair that you couldn't be on the team. Compared to the rest of the team you were definitely under-leveled, to say the least. But it still didn't feel fair, it felt like your work was undermined and underappreciated, it felt like getting spoken over, like being interrupted. It felt bad. You could see Tony sitting on the couch from where you were standing, the awkwardness of the situation was clouding and suffocating the room so much you could almost see it. You decided to sit at the opposite end of the couch from him, pressing your side into the arm of the couch. "So.." You crossed your legs and started messing with your hands.
"I know you've really wanted to be on the team since New York. And I understand that." Tony turned to look at you. "But." Here comes the bad part. You looked down at the floor. "You really aren't ready yet. You're 17, you've only had 5 years of training, and that's it." You didn't respond. "Look, y/n, I know I'm not the best at this whole dad thing, but-"
"I understand." You kept looking at the floor. You knew that if you looked him in the eyes you'd start crying, and no one wanted that. "I get it. I don't have a suit, or a magic hammer, I'm not a super soldier, or a super spy, I'm just.." You paused for a bit. "I'm just me. And right now, me isn't enough." You bit the bottom of your lip to stop yourself from crying.
"No! No, kiddo, that's not it at all. I just can't risk loosing you, ok? This team can't risk losing you. You keep us together, you know?" Tony started moving towards you, you could hear him. "Someday, you'll be a part of the team, I know that you will. It's just that that day isn't today." You nodded.
"I get it." You started quietly crying. Today certainly wasn't going well. Tony hugged you as tears started rolling down your cheeks.
"I'm sorry kiddo. Someday, alright? I promise." You sniffled and nodded, tears falling down onto your lap. That hadn't gone as bad as you thought it would. "I love you, you know."
"I know, dad." You smiled and sniffled again, trying to stop crying. Evidently, you weren't very good at stopping crying, as instead of the tears stopping, they only got worse.
"You know what, how about we have movie night with the whole team tonight? We can watch your favorite movie and make popcorn?" Tony smiled and loosened up his hug. You laughed.
"That's ok, dad." You let go of Tony and sniffled again.
"Are you sure? I'm pretty sure that we're all free tonight, and we have popcorn. We could order a pizza, just hang out, you know?" Tony let go of you.
"I'm sure, thank you though." You got up and smiled. It was about lunch time, wasn't it? "Maybe Monday? I'm just not really feeling up to movies tonight." You were almost always up for movies, but you had a feeling that "the whole team" didn't include Loki, and you didn't really feel like leaving him out of things, especially with what had happened in the sparring room. Tony shrugged and got up, heading for his room. You walked over to the kitchen and opened the fridge, looking for a quick lunch you could take to your room. Yogurt, maybe? That worked. You grabbed a vanilla yogurt from the fridge and a small metal spoon from the cabinet drawer. The spoons clinked as you closed the drawer, turning around to head for your room. You'd probably feel better after you had something to eat, you had missed out on breakfast amid all the chaos that ensued that morning. You were about to pass Loki's room and head into yours when you had a thought. Heading back to the fridge, you smiled and grabbed another yogurt and another spoon. You had no idea if this was a good idea, but you assumed it would be better than doing nothing. You stopped in front of Loki's room, a spoon and a yogurt in each hand. Taking a deep breath in and out, you knocked. Loki opened the door, smirking when he saw you.
"Hey there, kitten." You could tell you were blushing again. Would you ever not blush? "What brings you here?" Loki opened up the door a bit, and tilted his head to the side.
"Well, you don't have to if you don't want to, but I thought we could have lunch together?" You held out a yogurt and a spoon, smiling. Loki smiled back.
