"Finally." You sighed and pushed your screen back, a congratulatory: "You're done! For now." Displayed in white on the screen as it disappeared, the keyboard sinking back into the open space in the counter. You leaned back and looked out of the living room window to get some estimate on time. The sun was setting, streaming a warm light on your squinting face as you leaned back forward, out of the light. You turned to the side to look at Loki, your only current housemate, who was sitting next to a stack of finished books with a rather large one in his hand, he seemed about halfway through. "Hey Loki?" You asked, staring at his raven-black hair.
"Hmm?" He responded, not looking up from his book.
"Have you ever seen a movie before?" You hopped off your tall seat and walked over to sit next to him, moving the finished book stack from the couch to the floor.
"No, I have not." Loki looked up from his book, a mixture of curiosity and mischief in his eyes. "What exactly is a movie?" He dogeared his page and set the book down in the stack, his eyes fixed on you as you gasped.
"You don't even know what a movie is?" You laughed and reached for the TV remote. "Did you even try to learn about normal culture?" Loki shook his head and smirked, causing you to look away and blush a bit. "Ok, well if this is your first movie, it should be a good one." You pressed the voice control on the remote and held it to your lips. "f/m." You smiled as the movie came up on the huge screen. "Alright, alright, movie night! You!" You pointed to Loki, a newfound energy sparking inside you for a movie night, for some reason. "Get into more normal clothes!" You ignored his confused look as you slid into the kitchen and threw open the pantry door. "Popcorn, popcorn,popcorn..." Your eyes dashed around until you found a bag of popcorn. It was light green and had a stock image of butter on the top. You grabbed it and shut the pantry door, tossed the bag into one of the microwaves and head over to your room. You heard a click as the microwave door closed and the classically loud microwave noise as the mini oven started up its A.I cooking system. You slid around the sharp hallway turn and into your room, shut the door behind you, and opened up your top drawer, which was reserved specifically to your extensive collection of pajamas, which was mostly just loose and comfy pants and oversized t-shirts with some band or fandom logo on the front. You settled on pastel green shorts and an oversized white T-shirt with a black cat curled up in the center. You pulled the t-shirt over your head and smoothed out your now messy hair, nearly jumping a foot into the air when you heard a knock at the door.
"Loki? You nearly gave me a heart attack, what do you want?" You smoothed out the shirt and walked over to the door, opening it to a shirtless Loki standing nonchalantly in front of you. You averted your eyes carefully away from his chest to his face, your face heating up as it turned a bright red.
"I wish to clarify, when you said normal clothes, did you mean my normal clothes, or the Midgardian things you all wear. Because I do not own any such attire." He was surprising calm for someone shirtless. But then again, when wasn't he calm and poised, and so charming in every- You blinked and snapped out of your thoughts, your brain firing to think of where Loki could find anything "normal".
"Um- Well-" You stuttered, you couldn't seem to get your mind to focus off of Loki's chest directly in front of you. "Try- Try Thor's room. I'm sure he'll have something that could fit you." You twiddled with your thumbs as you looked down at the floor, hoping that if you stopped looking at Loki's chest the burning feeling on your face would go away. It did not. Loki nodded and turned around, staring at the empty hallway. "Thor's room is the one with the lighting storm painting on the front. It's about 5 doors down." The painting was done by yours truly, you were working on painting everyone's doors some kind of specialized thing. You backed into your room and shut your door in front of you. Why did that feel so weird? I've seen abs before, not a day goes by that someone isn't training shirtless. That's normal. So why isn't this normal? You pushed your swarming thoughts out of your head and walked over to your bed, grabbing a blanket and your fox plush. You opened your door again to find the doorway empty, and, hoping that Loki found some regular clothing, headed over to the couch to start the movie. You tossed the blanket and fox to the couch and headed over to the microwave to grab the popcorn. You opened up one of the bottom cupboards and grabbed a bowl, pouring the finished popcorn into it. The popcorn smelled nice, it seemed like the the one you grabbed at random was the extra buttery kind.
"How's this?" Your face turned a light red again at Loki's accented voice from behind you. "I tried to find something suitable, but my brother's taste is not exactly, well, you know." You turned around to see him standing behind you, the charismatic smirk you found so hard to get out of your head on his face, giving his emerald green eyes that beautifully mischievous shine. His black hair was tucked behind his ears, a few loose strands hanging out and framing his jawline. He had on a forest green shirt that you vaguely remembered seeing on Thor once, the shirt sleeves showing off his pale arms, which were crossed over his chest. The outfit was completed by a pair of black pants and socks that, for the life of you, you couldn't remember Thor ever wearing.
"Well.." You looked down at the ground in an attempt to hide both your blushing face and your thoughts. You thought he looked handsome. The shirt brought out both the green in his eyes and black of his raven-toned hair, and was tight enough to see the outline of his chest if you were looking hard enough, which you were. "What do you think?"
"I hate it. But I will admit it is more comfortable than my usual attire, and you seem to like it so I suppose it's alright."
"Shut up-" You lightly shoved past Loki and set the bowl of popcorn on the coffee table, and sat down, moving your fox plush to your chest. "Come on." You tilted your head and patted the seat next to you. "Can't have movie night alone." Loki sighed and took the seat next to you, moving his book collection to the side of the couch.
"I think you can have movie night alone." He smirked. "But you just want to be next to me." You let off a fake laugh and lightly pushed Loki to the side again, reaching for the remote and pressing play.
