"Must you recite every last bit of this?" Loki turned to you, his mouth half full of popcorn. You were about 40 minutes in, and had quoted about half of the lines, you simply couldn't help it.

"Well of course." You giggled and reached for more popcorn, only to find the bowl empty, to your dismay. "You wouldn't be properly annoyed if I wasn't." You paused the movie and got up, taking the bowl with you. "Besides, the popcorn is out, so you get some time for silence anyway." You shuffled into the kitchen and found two more bags of popcorn, each identical to the one you had grabbed the first time. You tossed each bag in separate microwaves, letting your eyes drift to the clock as the bags began to cook. 10:45. Pop! Wow, I spent quite a while on homework. Pop! I should probably get dinner for myself and Loki, it's late. Pop! If he even wants what Dad brings home. Pop! Dad. It was late, why weren't they back yet? If they had to stay and talk something out with the council, he should have at least called you first. Pop! What if something happened? What if they weren't ok? What if-

Ding! Your racing thoughts were cut off by the sound of the microwaves, signaling that the popcorn was done. You opened up the first bag and poured in the light, buttery bits that were its contents, your thoughts spilling out of your head like water in a cup. You finished pouring the second bag into the bowl, which was now close the overfilling itself, and walked back over to the couch, were Loki was sitting upright, almost catlike, his head stuck back into the book he was reading when movie night began.

"Here's popcorn!" You set the bowl down and fell back onto the couch, trying to clear your thoughts before Loki could read them. At least that's what you suspected he was doing. He could just be good at reading people, like Nat was. I hope Nat's ok. They've been gone for too long, I should-

"Here is the popcorn." Loki interrupted your racing mind, his hand full of popcorn. "That is the correct to say that, I believe."

"Yeah I know, dingus." You sighed back, your thoughts now devoted to protecting your grammatical pride. "I was referencing a movie." You pressed play on the remote and leaned back into the couch, hugging your fox plush, your thoughts now on what to order for dinner.

"Perhaps we could watch it afterwards, so I may understand the reference?" Loki questioned, his shiny black hair pooling on his shoulder as he tilted his head to the side, popcorn in his mouth again.

"Maybe." You decided on an everything pizza. "But you'd have to read the book it's based on first." Loki nodded and turned his head to the screen, a few pieces of popcorn still in his hand. "F.R.I.D.A.Y.! Order me a small everything pizza from the highest rated place nearby, please." Despite the fact F.R.I.D.A.Y. had been the tower's A.I for quite a while, you still felt like saying Jarvis.

"It should arrive in 30 minutes. Should I notify your father about this purchase?" You knew the A.I would tell Tony no matter what you said, so your answer didn't matter.

"You can have some, if you want." You turned to Loki, who was absentmindedly eating popcorn. "Or you could just keep eating popcorn." You leaned back into the couch and turned your attention to the movie again.

"What? It is very good." Loki defended himself as he got another handful. Whatever. You thought. Him eating all of the popcorn is better than him trying to take over the world. "You know that was not all me." Loki turned to you, his eyes carrying this strange look of sadness? No, that was guilt.

"What?" You were taken aback by his response to your thoughts. I should get more used to the fact he can do that.

"New York. That was not me. That was a twisted version of myself. A version brought on by that scepter. The only reason I am no longer like that is because of the Hulk." Loki turned back to the movie, trying to cut the conversation short.

"You mean when he tossed you around the floor like a ragdoll?" You asked sarcastically, raising an eyebrow. You didn't see what had happened, but you had seen the aftermath through the destruction on the floor. It looked very painful.

"Yes. That. It- It was similar to when the Hawkeye was under control. Although I do not know how you got him out of that." Loki continued staring at the movie. It seemed he really didn't want to talk about this.

"Nat beat him up, actually." You giggled, remembering Nat's retelling of that story. Loki didn't respond, but you saw him turn his mouth up into a smile. You both sat in silence for a while, the movie was almost done. That experience had really messed Clint up. And to come out of such a bad experience just to be thrust into a worse one that you had little control over, that sounded like hell. "I'm sorry." You didn't take your eyes of the movie.

"What?" Now it was Loki's turn to be confused. He turned to look at you.

"I'm sorry." You repeated, not moving your gaze. "I'm sorry you had to go through that." You turned to face him, seeing the sadness and confusion ever so apparent in his shining emerald eyes. "And I'm sorry that no one believed you, and that no one helped you." You reached out your hand and lightly set it over his.

"I-" Loki looked down at your hand over his and then back up at you. You recognized his tone of voice, you had heard it so many times. It was the tone of someone who wanted to cry but couldn't. "Thank you." Loki turned his hand over so that your palm were touching and gently grabbed your hand. His palm was soft, not rough like his brother's. However, you barely had any time to think about that as Loki pulled your arm in for a hug. Your face was pressed up against his chest, the green fabric soft and inviting. His arms felt surprisingly cool as you felt them wrap around your back, wrinkling the oversized shirt you were wearing. You slowly moved your arms from up next to your shoulders to around Loki, pulling yourself closer to him, so close you could feel the definition of his chest on your blushing face. A few strands of his hair had fallen down into your cheeks, but you didn't mind. He smelled nice, like the lavender soap Thor kept trying to get everyone to use. You could feel your heart's pace speed up, near beating out of your chest.

And then the doorbell rang.

Hahaha cliffhanger! So what did you guys think of that? I almost teared up while writing it, isn't that nice? I'll mention it on a community post later, but I just wanted to say that if I don't get my usual chapters up on Wednesday and Friday next week, don't kill me, I'll be at a sleepaway camp and will have to rely on data for anything. I'll try to not let that happen, though! Have a fricken awesome day, you beautiful people!
