El and Max sat on her bed with a homemade spin the bottle game. They were planning on picking a person to spy on with El's powers. El spun the coke bottle while they giggled.

"Mr. wheeler? Boring!" The girls said in unison, so El spun again.

The bottle landed on Billy's name, causing Max to grimace.

"I dont know about this , he's gross. If he's with your sister just get outta there as fast as you can"  max said.

El rolled her eyes then covered them with a black scarf. She immediately descended into the empty blackness of the upside down. She walked across the pitch black, water covered ground until she saw Billy.

"What do you see?" Max asked.

"He's with someone. A girl" El said.

"Not Diana?" Max gasped.

"No. Not Diana. She's...crying. Hes standing over her."

As El approached it was as if Billy heard her, he turned around and evaporated right before her eyes.

El jerked the mask off and wiped the blood off her nose.

"What happened?" Max demanded.

"I...I dont know. He was with a girl and she was crying, then he went away." El said, clearly spooked.

"Ok. So lets go to my house and see what we can find then!" Max jumped off the bed and began to gather her things.

Across town on Cherry Road, Diana and Corinne pulled up across the street from Billy's house in Corinne's moms 1976 Pinto wagon.

"He's not here." Corinne observed.

"No shit" Diana snapped.

Coronne raised her hands in defense. "Ok. Sorry."

Diana huffed. "He shouldve been here by now" she shook her head.

As if she spoke of the devil himself, Billy's blue Camaro raced down the street, parking in front of his house.

Billy got out and headed for the door.

"Shit, there he goes!" Corinne whispered as if he could hear them.

Just then, Billy stopped in front of the house and began to look around.

"Shit!" Diana whispered back, causing both girls to duck inside the car.

"What do we do?" Corinne asked as they watched Billy go inside.

Before Diana could answer, Max road up on her bicycle with El on the back.

"Fuck, I dont know but we've got bigger problems" Diana pointed to the girls.

As the two headed towards the front door, Diana and Corinne got out of the car.

"HEY!" Diana whisper yelled, causing the two to halt.

She gestured for the two to come over by the car, they scurried in her direction.

"Whats going on?" Max asked Diana.

She shook her head. "I dont know yet. Why are you two here? I thought you were staying at Hopper's tonight".

"Well..." Max looked down, guilty.

"Well what?" Diana demanded.

"Well, We were messing around and El saw...Well El saw Billy and it was weird and we wanted to come check things out" Max explained.

Diana threw her hands in the air and huffed. "Great. Just great."

Corinne put a hand on Diana's arm. "Wait. This could work. We can distract him and maybe they can look in his room for anything suspicious."

Diana thought for a second. She quickly agreed, against her better judgement, And the foursome headed for the front door.

"Billy? Billy are you decent?" Diana called as she hustled the girls inside.

Billy emerged shirtless with a towel wrapped around his waist and smiled that same uneasy smile from the pool.

"Hello, Diana. Oh and my sister Maxine is here as well, what a nice surprise."

Diana caught Corinne's jaw go slack. "Yeahhh. Well Max and El are going to play in her room. I thought maybe we could talk?"

He walked up to Diana and gazed into her eyes. She noticed how dull the blue of his eyes seemed. The brilliance gone. Before she could say anything, he broke eye contact.

He walked over to the sofa and sat down, not bothering to put clothes on.

"Billy, its freezing in here! Arent you cold?" Diana asked.

He didnt respond, only stared at Corinne. "Why is she here? I thought we were going to spend some intimate time together" he finally blurted out.

Diana felt her face go crimson "Billy! Ok what is going on with you? You dont even sound like yourself! Are you on drugs?" She demanded.

He let out a throaty laugh. "Drugs? Diana dont be ridiculous"

"No shes right, Billy. Youre not being yourself. Were just concerned. So if theres something going on with you, you need to be honest with us" Corinne chimed in.

He laughed almost menacingly "Red, whats wrong? You think the Devil's got your boyfriend?"
