Diana stormed towards the parking lot, stopping only when she noticed Billy's Camaro. The windshield had been smashed. She jogged up to it, then noticed the passengers side door had been caved in.
"What the fuck..." She muttered to herself.
She stuck her car keys back in her pocket and headed back toward the locker rooms.
She stormed into the mens room, hunting for Billy. It was empty aside from one shower going.
"Billy?" She called.
Inside the shower, Billy stood under the ice cold water fully clothed.
Diana called to him again, stopping at the open shower curtain where Billy stood facing her.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" She asked, brows furrowed.
He stared blankly at her, saying nothing.
Then as if the light had come on inside his brain, he cracked an in-genuine smile.
"Im so sorry Diana. I dont know what you mean" he said.
His voice sent a shiver down her spine. "You dont know what I mean?? You look like youre on drugs, the Camaro is all smashed to shit, you stood me up last night and you have nothing to say for yourself? What the fuck, Billy" she spat.
He took a step closer "I was in a bit of a fender bender last night. I was meaning to call you to inform you, however it must have slipped my mind" he kept smiling that creepy smile.
She stared at him confused. "Well are you alright? Maybe you have a concussion" she offered.
"You know I believe I just might. Im feeling a tad under the weather this morning". Same creepy smile.
"Uhh..ok then. Well maybe we should get you home? I could.." She began.
"No." He cut her off.
"No?" She asked.
"No. I dont need any assistance. I just needed to cool off. I will be fine. Thank you so much for your concern Diana. I love you and I will see you this evening" he brushed past her, saying the I love you as if it were a question.
She watched him until he left the locker room.
"What the hell was that" she asked herself, rubbing her goosebump covered arms. He hadnt even sounded like himself. She figured he must have hit his head pretty hard because she had never heard him speak like that in her life.
She raced to her car and drove to her house, barely hearing the music on the radio.
She ran up to her bedroom as soon as she got home, passing a confused Rudy on the steps.
She picked up her turquoise phone and dialed Corinne.
"Yello?" Corinne answered nonchalently.
"Hey! Listen I just had the weirdest run in with Billy" Diana began.
"Oh nooo, if this is another one of your kinky sex stories, I cant handle it. Not after the last time with the rolling pin and cowboy boots...I still have nightmares..." Corinne yammered.
"Corinne! Listen its not! I think Billy's on cocaine or something. We were supposed to meet at the Motel 6 last night but he never showed. I saw him today the Camaro is all messed up and he looks like hell. I dont know what to do, then he was talking like some old person, Im scared Corinne!" Diana bellowed into the receiver, shaking.
"Ok...so couldve been a kinky sex story, but he wrecked his car? And he didnt seem upset?" Corinne asked.
"No! He couldnt have cared less! He was being so weird" Diana explained.
Diana heard Corinne breathing on the other end. "Hmm, youre right that is strange. When are you seeing him again?"
"Probably tonight" Diana said.
"Good. Maybe he has a brain bleed" Corinne offered.
"Corinne!"
"Ok. Sorry, uncalled for. Do you want me to come to?" Corinne asked.
"Yes! Please. I need someone else to assess this and make sure Im not going crazy" Diana begged.
The girls agreed to meet at Billy's that night, and find out what was really going on inside his head.
