Seven months later
"Do you feel anything?" Dr. Owens asked from behind a glass door.
Billy shut his eyes and concentrated, the probes that were attached to his head were starting to itch. " Not really" he snapped.
"Well try harder. Try to....feel her out if you can." Dr. Owens suggested.
"And what the fuck you think Ive been doing for the last twenty minutes? Im so sick and tired of you assholes telling me what to do! Nobody tells me what to do!" He yelled, slamming his fist hard onto the metal table, leaving behind a huge dent. He went to stand up and rip the probes off when a sharp sensation, like a shock, travelled through him.
"Fuck!" He yelled, clutching at his forehead.
"Its...I think its happening..." Billy stammered as a smile crept across the doctors face.
Diana went to reach for a book on her top shelf when she felt immediately like she had wet her pants.
"What the hell...OH MY GOD!! Rudy!!" She screamed.
She heard her adopted father run down the hallway and throw open her door.
"What happened?" He asked, then noticed the puddle at Diana's feet.
"Its coming...the baby is coming!"
After twelve hours of labour, the doctor returned to Diana, a small, blonde headed baby boy in her arms.
"Its a boy" the doctor said with a smile, handing him over to Diana.
Tears welled up in her eyes as she looked down at him. "Is he alright? Like...there isnt anything wrong with him?" She asked, hastily.
The doctor shook her head. "He's perfect. And he's got some fire in him. He even has the cutest birth mark. It looks like a tiny lightning strike almost. Look, its on his leg" the doctor pulled out the babies leg to show Diana.
She gasped when she saw it and almost dropped the baby, causing him to wail.
"Its ok, Hun. Its just a birthmark." Lynnette said, rubbing Diana's back reassuringly.
"Yeah..." Diana whispered as she looked at the birthmark on her sons leg...a mark that looked exactly like the flay lines Billy had when he was possessed.
"Its a boy" Billy muttered, feeling sick.
"Wow! Congrats! Now is there any sign it isn't human? I mean, if you can connect with it like this...it cant be fully human, can it?" Dr. Owens asked.
Billy never responded, just stared at the ground as a single tear slid down his cheek.
"Have you decided on a name?" The nurse asked as she brought in a birth certificate.
"I have. William James Hargrove. My real dad was killed the same night his dad was...killed. I think it'll be the perfect way to remember them both" Diana smiled sadly.
"Im so sorry. I cant even imagine what you went through" the nurse sympathized.
"You know what bothers me the most? Everyone says I need to move on. How am I supposed to do that? What if when I die he isn't...waiting for me? Now I have a miniature version of him to remind me every day that I have to live without him" tears began to fall as Diana spoke.
The nurse didn't answer, just gave her a sad look and left her alone with her baby.
" Ive done all you've asked. Now, can I go find her?" Billy asked, annoyed yet hopeful.
Dr. Owens nodded. "You can. But don't engage. It could ruin the study. We only have a little while longer"
Billy shot him the finger as he stormed by, heading back to the small cell he had been calling home for the last seven months.
