We had an argument about if he was staying or not. I lost. Tom went back to his hotel though. He stayed for a while and even made me laugh. He's a really nice guy. Not bad to look at either. I laugh to myself for thinking that and my dad looks over to me.
"What am I gonna wear tomorrow?" I ask as he leans forward in his uncomfortable chair.
"I've got a few options picked out." He nods.
"You know I've lost a lot of weight right?" I ask looking at how uncomfortable he's going to be.
"I know. Some of them are loose and some of them are form fitting and alterations are a thing." He says still looking uncomfortable. Even more so maybe.
"When did you become a fashion expert?" I ask pushing the call button for a nurse.
"I've heard lots of lingo filming this movie." He smiles as a nurse comes in.
"Do you need something?" She asks looking to me.
"Yeah. Uh, is there anyway we can get a cot in here for him?" I ask not paying attention to him.
"No I'm fine-" I cut him off.
"No he's not. He's uncomfortable. And if it wouldn't be too much trouble he'd like a cot." I smile. The nurse nods and leaves.
"You didn't need to do that." My dad says getting up and sitting on the edge of the bed.
"Too late. Already did." I smile moving to sit next to him. I lean into him and he puts his arm around me. "I have hair." I sigh putting my arms around him.
"You do?" He asks looking down at my hat but not saying thing.
I sit up and smile. "It's pretty long. A little longer than Tom's but still shorter than yours." He looks at me expectantly. "Don't look at me like that." I hit his arm.
"You can't tell me you have hair then not show me." He reasons. I sigh and take my hat off. "It looks great." He smiles.
"Really?"
"Yes." He nods and wraps his arms around me making up for the months of hugs we've missed. "My beautiful girl." He smiles pulling away from me and looking at me. I smile back. "So... would you be ok with wearing your hair like that?"
"I don't know." I shrug. "But I'm leaning towards yes." I smile. I run my hand through my short brown hair and yawn.
"You should get some sleep." He says getting up and going back to his chair.
"I'm waiting until the nurse gets in here with your cot so I know you'll sleep in it." I glare.
"I promise I'll sleep in it."
"I don't believe you." I glare as I begin to cover myself up and lay down. The nurse is wheeling in the cot and another is holding sheets. I smile a thank you to them and watch my dad as he sets it up and lays in it.
"Happy?" He asks looking over to me.
"Yes." I smile turning off the lamp and getting some sleep.
When I wake up I'm pleased to see my dad still asleep on the cot. It's good that e gave in to me. I don't think the red carpet would agree with him if he'd slept in the chair. I suddenly remember what Dr. Brown told me yesterday and press the call button.
Dr. Brown walks in with a nurse and smiles at me. "Are you going to wake your dad?" She asks.
"Would it be bad if he woke up and I wasn't here?" I ask with a smirk.
"Yes. He'd be worried." She says hitting me lightly with the clipboard. I chuckle and grab one of my pillows to throw it at him. He jumps awake with wide eyes and I wished I'd filmed it. I laugh as he realizes where he is.
