"A- Adrien?!" Ladybug yelled hysterically.
"Oh no, no, it's not Adrien anymore, Petite Bug," the figure replied with a teasing tone.
"It's Chrysalide," he winked.
Chrysalide's outfit is pitch black, with a mysterious dark violet mask that's shaped like moth wings. He was slightly taller than Ladybug, and somehow to her — really reminds her of Hawkmoth's figure.
"Just wait, Adrien, I'll bring you back!" Ladybug screamed as she swung her yo-yo and pulled herself closer to Chrysalide's presence. "Hiya!" She kicked him right in the guts.
Chrysalide took a few steps back due to shock and pain.
"Grrr," he groaned and glared at Ladybug in hatred.
Ladybug slightly jumped back at the sight of the man he loves staring at her as if she's a piece of garbage.
"Adrien," her eyes turned soft, "I know you're in there. You don't have to do this. It must be a hard time for you because of your father's sickness, but have faith, Adrien! You're the strongest person I know!"
Chrysalide shut his eyes tight and scrunched his nose. He fell on his knees.
"N- no!" Chrysalide quickly got back on his feet and clenched his fists, "y- you! I told you! Adrien's not here!"
He then gestured his hands facing the ground and shrieked, "I command you to arise!" He sounded mad.
Suddenly, all roots from trees in the park rose up and smote harshly onto the earth. Apparently, he has given trees ability to move recklessly.
Their color turned from wood brown to umber and cuts started to form — as if something has harmed them with violence. Hideous and horrifying faces started to bulge from the trunks, turning them to monsters.
They all suddenly turned — now aiming at Ladybug. Ladybug fell down in shock as the malicious looking trees surrounded her.
Chrysalide let out a lunatic laugh, "is that all? this is too easy now, isn't it?"
"Chat Noir! Help!" Ladybug squealed desperately for her partner.
Chrysalide sneered, "oh, can't you see, Petite Bug? He's not coming."
Ladybug watched Chrysalide in loath. She doesn't know what to do anymore. Will akumatized Adrien be the last villain she ever fought?
She stared around at her surroundings — which is mainly monster trees, savoring her moment of defeat.
That's when she saw it.
Through tiny gaps from the tree branches, she saw a strange shaping object.
"Carrots?" She whispered softly to herself — attempting to figure out what that thing is, "wait, no... Fox ears?"
She gasped, "Rena."
"Hey, cocoon! Pick on someone your own species! Although, a pupa like you is no match for a feline like me," a voice yelled remotely out of the blue.
"Huh?!" Chrysalide got distracted and turned his face to the side. Automatically, all the trees also turned, facing where their leader is facing.
"Chat... Noir?" Chrysalide tilted his head, unable to process.
"B- but, there's no way... Chat Noir is..." That's when he snapped.
"An illusion!"
He groaned and turned back to where Ladybug was previously cornered. She was no longer there.
"NO!" He screamed in fury, "that darn bug!"

In a dim and damp alley, Ladybug — whose arm is now over Rena Rouge's shoulder due to lack and need of support, thanked her.
"How did you know I was in trouble?" Ladybug asked. "I was taking new inspiration photos for the ladyblog when I saw an old man chasing after me! Turns out, he was the guardian of the miraculous or something, and handed me the fox miraculous. He then told me that Ladybug is at the park requiring assistance, so I sprinted here. Seeing the lack of Chat Noir's presence, I used that as a subject of my mirage to distract the villain."
Ladybug's face lit up as she listened to Rena Rouge's explanation, "you're a genius, Rena!"
"But wait, you said that an old man admitting himself as a guardian to the miraculous showed up...?" Ladybug asked, puzzled.
"Yes, I didn't understand what he was saying at first, but when I saw the fox miraculous and heard that you're in trouble, I didn't think twice and transformed," Rena answered.
"I see..." Ladybug frowned then nodded, "I suppose that means the guardian is ready to reveal himself..."
Ladybug grinned, "we're taking a detour, Rena. This way."
Ladybug then started guiding Rena to the most unexpected place she has ever thought to bring anyone — Master Fu's house.
