We have been running at full speed for hours all thanks to Naruto not willing to stop not even for a second. You could see it in his eyes. Naruto was worried for Gaara, but he was also mad. Mad at the Akatsuki, mad at him self for letting this happen (even though there was nothing he could've possibly done), but he was also mad at the news of Sasuke. You could see the Kyuubi shinning red through his once joyful blue eyes. I was worried for the boy. He may be strong, but let's face it the kid can't control the Kyuubi. If he goes on like this he's gonna go over board. I stopped and jumped to the ground, Kakashi took notice and jumped down next to me, then followed Sakura. Naruto turned to see us all stopped.

"What are you all doing?!! We have to keep going?!!" The red in Naruto's eyes shown bright as he yelled.

"Naruto we need to stop for the night," I told him calmly.

"I agree. If we go on like this we'll be out of chakra and dead by the time we could get to Suna," Kakashi said.

"How could you say we need rest when Gaara's in danger?!!" Naruto was raging at this point.  I calmly walked up to him and placed my hands firmly on his shoulders. He tensed for a moment then relaxed slightly. I could feel his Kyuubi chakra going down.

"Naruto, you will be no good too Gaara dead, now will you. You have to rest, we all do. Kakashi and Sakura don't have the chakra we do. Look," I told him motioning to Kakashi and Sakura who were still trying to catch their breath. The red faded from Naruto's eyes as he looked at his exhausted comrades.

"We'll set out tomorrow first light," I tried to convince him. He sighed and reluctantly nodded.

"Ok then. Sakura get the tents up, Naruto come with me to collect fire wood," Kakashi ordered.

After we got the camp set up and had some food Sakura turned in for the night, and Naruto, though reluctant, did as well.

I was sitting on a high branch in a tall leave-less tree gazing over the top of the moonlit forest. The sky was clear, the night was warm, and the stars shown like still white fireflies twinkling in the dark sky. The only sounds were crickets singing for love, the occasional soft spoken hoot of an owl, and the distant rush of a small stream. The night seemed to me like that small stream; longer then it seems. (reference anybody?) An ever present darkness until it is finally pushed away by the light of the rising sun in the west. The breeze shook the leaves ever so slightly. As I calmly watched over the night I felt a familiar chakra from behind me. It jumped onto the branch and stood next to me.

"It's beautiful, isn't it," Kakashi said softly. "There's something so entrancing about a forest at night. Almost as if the darkness hides the forest deepest secrets that only come out at night. And yet, it so dully compares to the beauty of other things."

"Oh? Like what?" I turned and softly smirked up at him. He turned his head down to look me in the eye.

"Like you," he replied with a soft smile. My smirk turned into a small smile as a felt a slight blush. I inhaled deeply the crisp night air and closed my eyes leaning my head back against the tree.

"I'm worried about Naruto, Kakashi. He's too rash to have the power that he does. I mean, what fi he makes a stupid decision and gets himself killed?"

"Naruto would never be dumb enough to get himself killed," Kakashi replied.

"You sure about that," I said looking up at him with my eye brow raised. "He's very strong so I'm sure he could take care fo him self. But, again, he's very rash," I said worryingly. Kakashi sat down next to me.

"Aman, even if he does do something stupid that's why he has teammates, to hopefully keep him from doing anything stupid, and if he does, get him out of trouble," Kakashi told me comfortingly. I just smiled at him and nodded.

"Yeah, You're right. This has got to be a rough time for him though. I mean he just found out that his best friend, like brother, left the village. That's got to be a punch to the gut," I told Kakashi. "I know it was for me," I said solemnly. I looked down with a look of regret, sadness, and despair in my eyes. Kakashi looked at me with the same look. He knew who I was talk about.                   Itachi. He was who I considered my brother, not only the best friend. I loved him. He was the family I had already lost.

"Yeah...It was for me too," he looked at me and smirked a little. I chuckled softly.

"Yeah. Even after all this time I'm still sorry that I left you with no explanation." He just put his arm around me.

"It's alright, love. I'm just glad you're back. With me. And now all I can ask is that you stay."

I rested my head on his broad shoulder. I spoke softly.

"Of course. I love you after all."

Kakashi chuckled a little. He brought his hand to my face and lifted my chin so we could see eye to eye. He brought his hand from my face and pulled down his mask. I don't think I could ever get over how truly handsome he was. It was as if Kami had sculpted every little detail with his own hand. Before I could think anymore about his face I felt his soft lips on mine. They moved in heavenly sync. It felt like one of us was that one missing one missing puzzle that once you find it it's so satisfying to find that I fits just perfectly. We slowly parted from each other and Kakashi leaned his forehead against mine.

"I love you, Aman Okami," Kakashi spoke softly.

"I love you too, Kakashi Hatake." We sat like that for what felt like forever, but what was only really a few moments, until I broke through the soft sounds of the night.

"You need to get some rest. I'm sure you're exhausted, and we still have a long way to go tomorrow. I'll stay up for the night watch," I said as I slowly disconnected our foreheads.

"But I-" I interrupted Kakashi.

"I wasn't asking. Now go sleep. Besides you know I love the night anyway." Kakashi reluctantly got up, said good night and went to bed. I just lied back against the tree and continued to listen to the entrancing sounds of the night. The singing of the crickets, the soft hoot of an owl, the rush of a distant stream.
