I was sitting in a hospital room next to a clean white bed that held Kakashi between the sheets. I knew he would be ok, but of course I had to worry. He could be out for days for over using the Mangekeo. I heard form the Hokage that she found a temporary replacement for Kakashi leading the team. She also mentioned a new member to replace Sasuke. I had a feeling that Naruto and Sakura weren't taking it too well. Now that we were back from our mission they finally had a moment to process that Sasuke was really not coming back.

I left the hospital to go see if I could find the new member of team Kakashi. Just as I was turning a corner I heard a very familiar yell. I turned towards the noise to find, not only Naruto, but Shika as well confronting some super pail kid. I walked over and decided to interject before things got too physical. Just as I walked over I heard the pail kid insult Naruto's balls. I burst into laughter catching everyone's attention.

"Aman-sensei?" Shika exclaimed confused.

"Terribly sorry to interrupt, but I just have to know who this guy is," I said pointing at the pail kid. The kid just turned my way and gave a fake smile.

"I'm Sai. The new member of team Kakashi." I hummed in response and nodded. Just at that moment I saw he was wearing a Foundation uniform. My smile dropped when I thought back to my memories of Danzo.

It was well known that Danzo was a cruel man. I could never forgive him for what he made Itachi do, but when I was in the Anbu he worked me to my bone, just to see the extent of my power. He once pushed me so hard that he was a victim of my power. I was almost kicked out of the village because he lied and said I did it on purpose. If it weren't for the third Hokage I would've been exiled all because of Danzo.

"So, you know Danzo?" You could hear a change in my tone. It went colder and darker. Sai slightly flinched at my change.

"Um...yes." Sai was hesitant as he spoke.

"Well isn't that unfortunate."

Naruto was obviously very confused. "Wait, wait, wait! Who's this Danzo guy?"

"A cruel and selfish man. I'll leave it at that," I said with a distant look in my eyes.

"But what did he-"

"I'll leave it at that." I didn't raise my voice at Naruto I just gave him a look that silenced him instantly.

"Anyway, Sai, if you're the new member, then who's Kakashi's temporary replacement?" Just after I finished my sentence a man walked up from behind me.

"Hello, I'm Yamato, the temporary leader for Team Kakashi."

I turned to the voice and smirked as I realised it was Tenzo. Kakashi and I worked with him in the Anbu for a while. When he saw it was me, he flinched slightly in surprise.

"A-Aman-senpai!"

"Hey, Tenzo. How've you been?" My face still held it's signature smirk.

"Wait! You two know each other?!" Naruto's expresion just screamed surprise. I flinched at his loud voice.

"Yes, Naruto. We worked together a long time ago, chill."

---------

After we all parted ways I went back to the hospital to sit with Kakashi. As I sat in the single chair placed next to the bed, that held an unconscious Kakashi, and pulled out an old sketchbook I found in my apartment. I thought for a moment of I would draw. I wasn't much of an artist but I'll sketch something every now and then. I finally got an idea and started to let it flow down onto the paper through the led. It was a memory I had of Itachi and I. It was when he first mastered a move I taught him. I was so proud that day. I couldn't help but wonder if this is what Mako felt like when he taught me. I was almost finished when I could feel someone's chakra behind me and I smirked a little.

"What are you drawing?" Sai peered over my shoulder. I lifted the book a little.

"It's my brother and me. We may not be related by blood, but he's the closest thing I've had to family for a long time." I held the picture of Itachi and I close. "He meant the world to me, and I will forever hold him in my heart."

There was a change in Sai's eyes at that moment. They became cloudy and held a deep pain. It was as if he had lost someone close to his heart as well; as if he knew the sense of brotherhood and love, but it was ripped away from him.

---------

After talking for a while Sai left to go about his own business. There was something truly intriguing about that kid. He almost reminded me of myself in some ways. There was a hidden pain behind his black eyes. I soon heard a knock at my door. I opened it to see an Anbu in a bird mask waiting.

"The Hokage has summoned you," he said in a stern voice.

"Oh great, what'd I do now," I sighed.

--------

I reached the big red door of the Hokage's office and knocked. I heard a soft come in and I entered the large room. I saw the Hokage sitting at her large desk that was piled high with paper. She didn't seem to acknowledge my presence until I broke the short silence.

"You summoned me, Lady Hokage?"

"Ah yes, Aman. I need you to inform team Kakashi of their next mission, and I also need you to accompany them." She seemed rather hesitant in her words. I raised an eyebrow.

"And what might that mission be?" She was now visibly hesitant to inform me on what I'd be informing.

"Naruto and Sakura have been bothering me everyday for the entirety of this month, and I finally agreed. I need you to go with them to Orochimaru's hide-out and find Sasuke." She was flinching waiting for my response.

"Are you serious? The kid's a freaking rouge?! Why in the name of Death should we go after him?!"

"I understand you think this is a bad idea, but I promised Naruto I would let him go after Sasuke now that I believe he, and Sakura, have gotten much stronger," she said with a sense of urgency in her voice.

I was not happy about this at all. I did not in anyway want to go after the kid that betrayed the village in pursuit in killing my best friend/brother. But I also knew how much Naruto and Sakura wanted to go after Sasuke, not to mention it would probably be best for them to see for themselves that he is not coming back. So, though very reluctant, I nodded my head in agreement. The Hokage was rather surprised I agreed so easily. She dismissed me from the room, and I left to assign Team Kakashi their new mission.

'Great...'.
