A/n shout out to one of my favorite openings in Naruto next chapter one of my favorite openings in shippuden.

3rd pov (same year)

"Why am I even following you?" says a young boy shrugging his shoulders with such a irritated look on his face.

"I need help remember? I hide a stash of honey potato chips about a month ago around here. So help me find it!" says another boy with long spikey brown hair along with red swirl marks around his cheeks.

"What a drag , they were probably blown away from the wind or eaten by someone-" soon he stops mid-sentence and both kids spot a young girl on the ground about the same age as them unconscious. With mid-length silver hair hovering over her face as well as covered in dirt.

"Gah! Is she dead!" the slightly husky kid says in a frightened tone.

The other boy sighs heavily "great, just a sight I wanna see in the morning still.." he places his hand on her neck and begins to feel for a pulse.

"So is she alive?"

He pulls away quickly "she's alive alright still she doesn't like a kid I've seen around the village. I would have recognized silver hair like that around. Then she must be an outsider. Guess we should tell someone right?"

"I'll call someone right away " says the boy with the red swirls on his cheeks.

"Great stuck with unconscious body" he sighs with a bored expression glancing at her.

Soon he sees a kunai at the bottom of her arm "crap!"

He grabs it and looks at it in shock "I could have been killed if I didn't remove it any sooner still-" he begins to look closer at it and sees a name engraved on the kunai.

"Kai.."

"She's here! Shikamaru stand back!" says an older adult wearing a green vest who examines her body.

"Alright I'll take care of it thank you for the information" he places the young girl into his hands and disappears right in front their eyes.

The one holding the kunai looks down at it again and widens his eyes and mutters softly "crap , I should have gave it to that jonin ninja."

"Well are you still going to help me find them-"

"Still want the chips!?" he says angrily.

"Please!"

He places the kunai into his pocket "fine."

1 day later~~

Kai Pov

I'm so tired..

Where am I?

I begin to rub my eyes gently , as my vision begins to clear up I open my eyes to see..

"white celling... in a room!?" I sit up quickly and I gasp loudly.

I look around me and I seem to be in a hospital room. I begin to breath heavily where am I?

I feel a slight bit of pain in my forehead. I guess I still feel a bit knocked out since-

"I don't remember" I mutter softly.

"Seems your awake?" an old raspy voice echos my way. As I glance towards the direction I see a gray haired old man with a long customary hat and haori with a red, full-length kimono that is tied using a white sash along with a pipe in his mouth.

I widen my eyes 'is this guy going to kill me!?'

I reach into my pocket but I don't feel my Kunai!? I jump out of the bed and I back away from him he begins to chuckle "don't worry child.. your safe . You shouldn't be afraid."

"Ha sounds like a response of an ordinary pervert" I hiss at him standing my ground.

"Pervert.." he stops for a moment before laughing "I haven't been called that in a while good one. Though if you don't believe me how about this.. I vow to keep you safe child no matter what" he raises his hand giving an oath.

I widen my eyes how can he make promises like that to a girl he just meet!?

I look down at the ground.. maybe I should trust-

Growllllllll....

I immediately place my hand onto my stomach. I haven't eaten in a while... this is so embarrassing.. I close my eyes in embarrassment and soon I begin to get a strong scent across the room.

I open my eyes to see the old man carrying a lunch tray in his hand smiling at me "let's talk shall we?"

I feel my face turn a bright red and I nod "okay."

"Village Hidden in the Hotsprings?" He raises an eyebrow.

I place my fork down , and I nod "the village soon begin to turn more sadistic by some maniac on the loose who believed that violence was good.. You think I wanna die? So I fled and now I've been rogue for about 3 months now.
