Karan looked upto him in tears.

William kept his hand on his shoulder.

Karan wiped his tears.

Karan smiled bitterly.
Karan: Kse bhul skta hu... Use khoya tha maine.. Uski hasi khoyi thi... Use andhere mein jaane diya tha maine..
Flashback
Karan was stalking Preeta since few days. Her happiness, her smile, her positivity was changing him. He was falling for her.
Karan brought some flowers for her.
He went to meet her but saw her hugging Prithvi. He moved back and listened all their talks.
Preeta(smilingly) : Toh aap h vo jinhe mere dad ne mere liye chuna h...
Prithvi : Ha main Prithvi.. Prithvi Malhotra.. Tumhara hone wala pati..
Preeta (smilingly) : Mujhe papa ki har baat manzoor h... I hope humara rishta successful ho...
Prithvi : Use hona hoga...
Preeta felt something weird but ignored remembering her father.
Karan was furious listening this.
Karan(in mind) : Nhi... Yeh nhi ho skta.. Main uss se pyaar krta hu.. Use bhi mujhse pyaar krna hoga... Main yeh shaadi nhi hone dunga...
But he saw her talking happily to Prithvi. Her smile melted his heart and made him weak.
Tears rolled down his cheeks.
He went from there confused, angry and heartbroken.
Karan looked at her picture. His tears fell on her face.
Karan(in tears) : Tum khushi ho meri... Mohabbat ho... Aaj tumse baat krne aaya tha.. Par tum...
He remembered her with Prithvi smiling.
Karan(hugging the photo to his heart) : Par main tumhari smile tumse dur nhi jaane dunga... Tum iss shaadi se khush ho... Toh yeh shaadi hogi... Aur main tumse dur chala jaunga... Chala jaunga...
He was in tears. He went to her house and kept the flowers on her doorstep and left.
He saw her picking up the flowers and smiling. He smiled and hid behind the wall.
He left her for her smile. He left to New York as soon as she got married to Prithvi and decided to stay away from her. But when he came back after two months, he came to know that the marriage she was living in was nothing more than a curse. His heart again broke. He regretted letting her go and may be will regret this forever.

William kept his hand on his shoulder.

William : Tu hi uske liye h... Tu uska pyaar h Karan... Pyaar kamiyaan ya khamiyaan nhi dekhta... Sirf dil dekhta h.. Aur tere dil mein uske liye bas pyaar h... Jis pyaar pr haq h uska...
Karan closed his eyes.
Preeta was walking on road lifelessly.
Chahe main rahu..
Jahaan mein...
Chahe tu na rahe...
Tere mere pyaar ki..
umar salaamat rahe...
A thorn pierced in her foot. She shrieked in pain and stopped.
Karan came and held her through waist.
Preeta(shocked) : Aap...
Karan(angry) : Tumhe phir chot lagi... Maine kitni baar kaha h apna dhyan rkha karo... Hadd h tumhari.. Dhyan kaha tha tumhara...
A tear escaped her eye.
Preeta(in tears) : I am sorry...
He bent down to remove the thorn. She smiled. He disappeared.
Chahe yeh zameen..

Rahe na rahe..
Tere mere pyaar ki..
Umar salamat rhe..
She looked here and there to find him but he was nowhere. She sat on road shattered crying.
Preeta(in tears) : Nhi aayege vo Preeta... Aur nhi aana chahiye unhe... Tu unke liye sahi nhi h...
But suddenly, she felt a strong hand on her waist that lifted her off the ground.
Preeta(shocked) : Chodiye mujhe...
Karan picked her up in his arms.
Karan: Nhi chod skta... Aur yeh kya h... Zameen pr itne patthar h.. Chot lag jaati toh.. Yeh koi baithne ki jagah h...
Preeta looked at him in tears.
Preeta(smilingly) : Ab aap nhi h na.. Khyal rkhne ke liye.. Toh faraq bhi nhi pdta...
Karan : Andhi hogyi ho kya.. Ya main dikhai nhi de rha...
He kissed her forehead. She was shocked. He was actually there.
Preeta(shocked) : Aap.. Sach mein..
Karan : Ha.. Hum bhaag rhe h... Hum in sb se dur chale jayenge.. Hmesha hmesha ke liye... Ek aisi jagah.. Jahaan sirf tum aur main honge.. Aur koi nhi... Smjh gyi...
