"now, let's see here," soyeon sighed, opening jongdae's huge closet to fish around for clothes, "you shouldn't worry so much, dae, your father loves you no matter what you wear."

"mum, he's an a-list celebrity in both america and korea," jongdae said, hugging a stuffed animal close to his chest, "people expect perfection from those he associates with, and so i need the perfect outfit."

"jongdae, please do not forget that kim woobin is your father," boyoung told her son a little sadly, "i know you both aren't the closest, but a child should never think of their parents as strangers."

"i don't think of you as a stranger, mum, you and i talk on the phone like nine times in a week," jongdae sighed, messing with his fingers, "but i haven't spoken to dad in over seven years. he doesn't know what i look like. what if he doesn't recognize me? what if he gets disappointed when he does see me?"

"dae, he's very proud of you," boyoung told jongdae, "he always has been and he always will be."

"mum, how could he be when he doesn't even know me?" jongdae shook his head, "it's okay, mumma, you don't need to make me feel better."

"let's cheer up, yeah?" boyoung said to her son, "i don't want you to worry about anything- i have a team, they're gonna get here later and redecorate the crap out of this place, okay? and then i'm gonna design you a kickass outfit, yeah?"

jongdae smiled, nodding, "okay, mum."

"great," boyoung said, pulling out a nice outfit, "let's go eat."

"don't you have jet lag, mum?" jongdae asked her, getting up from his bed.

"jet lag versus me?" boyoung scoffed, "honey i win that fight each time. now, you change into this, while i'll go change."

"did namjoon leave?" jongdae asked his mom. she nodded.

"yeah, he brought his boyfriend here. i'm letting him off for he holidays," boyoung nodded, "and when you're done getting ready let me know, i already called the limo driver."

"okay mum," jongdae nodded, taking the clothes from her hands. it was nice and expensive, and it showed. boyoung left the room, closing the door after herself. jongdae changed into the outfit, once again forgetting to close the blinds from his bay window.

"MUM COULD YOU HELP ME WITH THIS SHIRT, PLEASE?" jongdae yelled.

"YEAH!" his mum shouted back, walking into his room. she rose an eyebrow at the handprints on his hips.

"you're being safe, right?" boyoung asked him, "i mean, i don't have any issue with you having sex so long as you're being safe."

"oh, we haven't done it done it," jongdae said, finger tracing over the bruise, "just a bit of fun. besides, i know to use condoms, mum."

"ah, what a relief," boyoung nodded, "alright, arms up."

jongdae did as told, his mum helping him get the shirt on and fixing it the way it was supposed to be worn.

"your tummy is flat and you're getting abs," boyoung frowned, "you're too skinny, dae."

"i don't like having a tummy, mum," jongdae laughed, patting his stomach as his mother picked out a nice and warm jacket for him, "i look weird when i do."

"but your tummy was so cute," boyoung sighed, dramatically pouting, beginning to fix jongdae's hair, "what shampoo do you use? you smell like peaches. it's really nice."

"baekhyun's mom makes me it," jongdae shrugged.

"how is my older sister? i haven't seen her in ages," boyoung asked, sniffing jongdae's head, "wow, she really got good at the fragrance game."

"she did, didn't she?" jongdae smiled, "it's sulfate free too, since i dye my hair sometimes. auntie seoyun is doing really good. you'll see her at the christmas party."

"oh, of course," boyoung nodded, "you wanna go like this or are you gonna do your makeup?"

"i'm gonna put some makeup on, of course," jongdae nodded, going to his vanity and quickly doing his makeup.

"you're so good at that," boyoung complimented, watching her son. jongdae smiled at her.

"well i'd hope so, considering the fact that i wanna become a makeup artist," jongdae laughed, "thank you, though."

"what do you think of this dress?" boyoung asked, looking at herself in jongdae's huge wall mirror, "it's a new design."

"it's really pretty," jongdae nodded, looking to his mom, "but you should wear a jacket, it's freezing out and i think it's gonna snow on christmas."

"a white christmas would be fun, wouldn't it?" boyoung asked, jongdae putting on some eyeliner.

"yeah, it would be cool," jongdae nodded, letting the liquid eyeliner dry before carefully doing the other eye, "blue or green contacts, mum?"

"blue," boyoung told him, "you look really nice with blue contacts. hazel for christmas, though, we want a warm look going on for that."

"and the party?" jongdae asked.

"i don't know, i'll have to see what i design for you first," boyoung said. jongdae nodded, putting the contacts.

"there. do i look alright?" jongdae asked his mum.

"angles have nothing on you," boyoung smiled at him, "come on, we'll find some place to eat."

"okay," jongdae smiled back happily, content with the plan, "oh, the limo's here."

"perfect, let's go," boyoung said, grabbing her purse off of jongdae's bed, "quick photo for the social medias."

"okay," jongdae replied, posing cutely with his mom.

"perfect," boyoung said happily, following jongdae down the stairs. he opened the door for his mother, who grabbed her coat off the couch and quickly put it on before heading out. jongdae locked the door, their limo driver getting out from the driver's seat and going around the limousine to open the door for them. boyoung went in, and jongdae glanced to minseok's house. he saw soyeon staring at him through her bedroom window. he gave a little smile and a wave before getting into the limo.

friends close, enemies closer.

"so, this guy you've been fooling around with," boyoung wiggled her eyebrows, "do i get to meet him?"

you already did.

"nope," jongdae laughed, "absolutely not, mumma."

"why not?" boyoung whined.

"cause," jongdae shook his head, "i have no business being with him, let alone introducing him to my parents."

"ooh, scandalous," boyoung said excitedly, "really, who is it?"

"take a wild guess," jongdae shook his head, "you'll be upset."

"oh, i've met him already?" boyoung asked, "but i've only met- oh."

"oh," jongdae sighed. boyoung blinked.

"minseok?"

"yep," jongdae nodded. boyoung hummed.

"i should be mad, but i'm not. but, if you are gonna fool with a married man," boyoung said, "you're gonna do it the right way."

"which is?" jongdae asked, surprised his mom wasn't gonna slap him into the next century. then he remembered that his mom was more like a cool older sister than a normal mother. boyoung smiled. she didn't like soyeon anyways. she was an awful mother for encouraging this, but truth be told, she didn't really care.

"make him fall in love with you."
