Claudia "Claudia" i hear and i wake up and its my mom. "Claudia wake up" i hear. "Yes?" I ask. "grandma mari is very sick she's at the hospital. We're gonna go right now" she says and i automatically sit up. "What's wrong?" I ask. Grandma mari , she's my dad's mom. My grandma , i love her so so much. I'm the only grandchild that has spent so much time with her. "I don't know we have to go. Watch your brother and sister" she says. "Mom is she going to be okay?" I ask. "I hope so" she says and walks out closing the door. I look over to my clock and its 4:30am. I get up and go to my bathroom and do my business.
I'm currently in the kitchen drinking coffee it's 7:15am. "Where's mom?" Vic asks. "They had to go early. I'm taking you hurry up" i say. "Sissy can i have cereal?" My sister asks. "Yes put your shoes on. Hurry" i say. I give them food and they eat. I grab my phone and they brush their teeth again. "You're going like that?" He asks. I'm wearing some sweatpants and a hoodie. "I'm not going today" i say. "Hurry" i say. We get in my car and i drive to the school. I drop them off then i head to the hospital. "How's grandma?" I ask my mom. "Go to school Clau" she says. "No where is she?" I ask. This def isnt good. Her eyes are puffy she's been crying.
"Clau" i hear and i look up. Its my dad he looks so distraught. I get up and hug him. "She wants to see you" he says. I walk with him to her room and he leaves. "Come here clau" she says. She looks so fragile. I sit next to her grabbing her hands. Tears in my eyes. "Nana" i say. "Honey , my time has come" she struggles to say. "Nana don't say that" i say as a tear rolls down my face. "I'm incredibly proud of you Clau , you're doing amazing things. I love you with all my heart honey. You've always looked out for me and I'll forever hold that with me. You'll need to be strong okay? I promise I'll always be there with you. I will never leave your side just like you've never left mine" she struggles to say ,her other hand comes up to me and wipes my tear. "Stay strong my little girl. I love you" she says. "I love you nana" i say and peck her hand.
"This is for you. Keep it with you" she says putting her rings and butterfly necklace in my palm. She grabs my right hand and places the rings on my finger. "Remember I'll be by your side , always. I love you okay" she says. "I love you" i say she smiles and her eyes start closing. All you hear is the monitor and i cry my dad walks in rubbing my shoulder and i hug him. I hug him tighter and he cries more. We feel other arms and i look over and nurses are here. I bring up the necklace to my heart and look at her crying my eyes out. "We will need you to exit the room" the nurse says. I don't move at all. "Come on" my mom says. "No I'm not leaving her" i say. "Clau" my mom says. "I'm not leaving her" i say crying.
My dad holds me and walks out with me. We get to the waiting room and I'm still crying.

"Your siblings are with your aunt" i hear my mom say. Its 6pm. 11 hours. I've cried , i have no tears right now this moment. I'm numb. Its still not fully hitting me. I have not touched my phone at all. "Clau" my mom says. "I'm talking to you" she says and i nod. I keep on zonning out. Words go from one ear to another. My mind keeps replaying all the memories I have with her. The day i told her i had started our school team , the excited/proud look she gave me. All my games she attended. She was always so proud. The times we would have our "pampering" days , she wanted me to "feel girly". The long talks we had. The times i would make her listen to bazzi lmao , she loved and learned the lyrics to mine and beautiful.
The day of the concert i recorded both songs and she made me play the video for her multiple times. I feel my eyes water and again i cry. My mom hugs me and i breakdown again for the 30th time. "Clau" my mom says rubbing my back. "Go take the stuff to the kids" my dad says and my mom pulls away and gets up and leaves. "We're going to be alright clau" he says hugging me. I hug him tight and we both cry. We stay hugging for a bit then i rest my head on his chest. His arm over me. We're waiting for my 2 uncles to come. My dad has two brothers , no sister. They have kids all boys though. Myself and my sister are the only girls.

"You know she had told me one time , whatever happened to her she wanted you to keep those rings. She said they brought her so much happiness and joy just like you. She knew your favorite color is blue. She loved those rings just as much as she loved you" my dad says as he touches the rings on my finger. They're absolutely beautiful rings. Engagement ring , wedding band and her 50th anniversary blue ring. She never took them off. My grandma and i , we had a deep connection. She knew about alex. I always told her everything. You know how some girls and their mom talk non stop and tell their secrets? That was me and my grandma. She was my best friend , my right hand. She was always there for me.
