Claudia Tihan , sensational baseball player catching manys attention. she began her school's first baseball team. plays all positions. preferably stays in center field.
alex verdugo , rookie on fire for the los angeles dodgers. plays center field.
Claudia "Clau" i hear my mom knock. "Someone is here for you" she adds. I don't want to see anyone. What am i doing you may ask? I'm just sitting at the edge of my tub holding a teddy bear my grandma gave me. I hear my door open and someone walk in the some footsteps leave. I get up confused and walk out my bathroom. My eyes widen seeing alex standing by my door. He sees me and comes to me wrapping his arms around me tightly and i cry hard asf. I haven't has physical contact with anyone. I've needed a hug so bad , I've needed to be in his arms so bad. "I know baby. I know. I'm so sorry you have to go through this. I'm here for you" he says rubbing my back.
"Let it all out" he says still hugging me tightly. We stay in the same position until i hear my dad and we pull away. "Clau its time to go" he says. "I can take her Sir , if you don't mind" alex says and my dad nods. I out my glasses on and grab my jacket not letting go of the teddy bear. My dad leaves and alex and i walk out. He holds my hand interlocking our fingers. I grab the vase with the flowers but he carries them. We walk out and everyone already pulled out the driveway. I get a text and its the address to where the service will be. We get in his jeep and i put the gps. He secured the flowers in the backseat. His hand rests ontop of mine giving me some sort of comfort.
Alex She's totally distraught. My heart is completely broken. Claudia , she's always happy. Never sad. Seeing her like this is completely sad. She's totally depressed. Its obvious she hasn't eaten anything and she hasn't slept good. As we get to a red light i look over at her and a tear rolls down her face. I can't see her eyes since she has glasses on. She uncontrollably starts crying and i use my thumb to rub her hand. The light turns green and i pull over. I put my emergency lights on and get off walking over to her side and i hug her. "Babe" i say rubbing her back as she sobs.
"Excuse me is everything okay?" I hear and i look back seeing the cop. I look at clau and rub her hand then close the door. "Follow me" the officer tells me. "Is everything okay? Is there a reason you pulled over and have your emergency lights on?" He asks. I have my glasses on too. "I apologize , my girlfriend lost her grandmother. We're on our way to the service and she started uncontrollably crying. I didn't know what else to do but pull over and comfort her" i say. I mean were both wearing all black. "I'm sorry about that. You did the right thing. Go on with your day" the officer says. "Thank you" i say and walk to my side and i drive.
Claudia A slideshow is being played right now. I'm obviously crying. Alex has his hand on top of mine comforting me. The slideshow ends and someone starts speaking. "Granddaughter of Mari , Claudia Tihan" she says. We were told to give a few words. I get up and go to nate. He gets up and walks with me. We get to the podium and i put the paper infront of me. I take a deep breath and hold onto nate's forearm. "Nana , i love you with all my heart. We had a bond like no other" i say as my voice cracks and tears roll down my face. "You were definetly a second mom to me" i say. "You taught me many things , we created many many memories along the way" i say.
"September 17" i say and again my voice cracks and i wipe the tears. "God looked down and realised he needed his angel. He knew he couldn't leave you here hurting anymore. Although i wish you were here i know you're now in a place way better than here. You're in no pain , you're happy. You're reunited with the love of your life. You've reached the highest place of life , eternity. You will forever live among us , your grandchildren and those you've touch their life" i manage to say. I hear many sniffles as i wipe the tears. Nate rubs my shoulder.
"For those who didn't get the chance to speak to my grandmother" i say. "She was an amazing , kind hearted , down to earth human being. She lived without hesitation" i say. "One of the many vivid memories i have of her is when i played songs of my favorite artist. She insisted of listening to two specifc songs. One day she surprised me by singing both the songs. She was extremely happy to show me she had learned all the lyrics to the songs. I was so proud of her. From that day forward we always sang along to the songs. Not so long ago i attened a concert of this artist and she was aware" as i say that two white butterflies appear. One stays at the casket and the other one stays on the podium.
"She asked me for two major favors. One was record both songs and second was get her a video of him giving her a shoutout" i say and chuckle while wiping the tears. "I did what she asked for , i showed her the videos and eveytime i was with her she watched them. I can say she watched them approx 500 times" i say and chuckle. "My grandmother was always smiling , she was always happy. Even at her last moments. She was smiling" i say. "She will forever be missed , she will forever remain in my heart" i say. "I love you nana" i say and wipe the tears. Everyone claps and stands as nate and i walk off the stage. The butterfly on the podium follows me to the casket.
"I love you" i say. "Hey Beautiful Beautiful angel" i hear and look up. The video i was talking about is being shown. I go to my seat and alex hugs me. We all watch the video and i strongly hold on my teddy bear and wipe my tears here and there. Myself among the rest let some chuckles out here and there.
