Spencer is anxiously tapping his foot. He's the first to sit at their usual lunch table, but he isn't entirely sure if he's even wanted there. Emily sets her tray down and slides into the seat in front of him.

"Where's everyone else?" Spencer asks quietly. He feels like he needs to walk on eggshells around his friends or they'll get mad at him again.

"With Penelope. She knows something about the fire," Emily says. Spencer gives her a confused look, but she just shrugs it off. "Spence, I know you have something on your mind. I'm here to listen."

Spencer bites his lip for a second. "Fine, but you need to promise you won't get mad at me."

"Mad at you?" Emily questions. Spencer slowly nods.

"Where do I even start," he mumbles.

"Maybe start with why you actually missed that week of school," Emily suggests.

Spencer leans in and drops his voice so only Emily can hear him. "My mom is really sick. She has schizophrenia."

"Why didn't you say something?" Emily asks.

"Nobody wants a friend with a psycho for a mom," Spencer says. Emily grabs Spencer's hand and squeezes it tight.

"That's not true, Spencer. We care about you."

"I'm so sorry I was rude to you guys, I just needed a break from everything," he says.

"Don't worry about it," Emily says with a smile. "So I heard Cat and Lindsey talking earlier. Want to tell me what that was about? You didn't get her pregnant, did you?"

Spencer's face turns red. "No! Emily, what the actual-"

"Okay, so what happened?"

"I kissed her," Spencer says, a little too loudly.

"Oh shit," Emily mumbles. "I was bluffing. I only heard her say your name, but-" Spencer sighs. "So really? You kissed her?"

"Well, she kissed me," Spencer clarifies.

"Does that make a difference?"

"Yes it does, actually," Spencer mutters. "We were drinking vodka on the roof and she kissed me."

"Who the hell has possessed you? You wouldn't do any of that," Emily almost laughs.

"This is why I didn't tell anyone."

"Did anything else happen?"

"No. She wanted it to go further, but I just wouldn't let her," Spencer admits. He's really embarrassed about this whole thing. He wishes it didn't happen so things wouldn't be so awkward between him and Cat.

"Do you think she's mad at you?" Emily asks.

"I don't think so. It looked like she took it pretty well," Spencer shrugs.

Meanwhile, Cat is making her way to the hallway with the worst bathrooms in the school, waiting for someone.

The well-known school drug dealer, Tobias Hankel, taps Cat on the shoulder. "Shit! Why did you have to scare me like that?" she yells.

"Sorry," he mutters. "I have what you asked for. It's the hardest stuff I've got." Tobias unzips his backpack and takes out two small vials of dilaudid and a needle, handing them to Cat.

"Thanks," she says, putting them in her backpack.

"I didn't know you used."

Cat smiles. "Oh, I don't," she says, handing him a couple of twenties. "They're for a friend."
