Scott's P.O.V.

I pull up to my girlfriend Allison's house before school. We've been dating for about 3 years now, and her car is in the shop, so I told her I'd take her to school. I'm looking at her door, waiting for her to come out. When the door opens, she's standing in tight black jeans, a green loose fitting knot turtle neck, and a blue jean jacket. Her dark hair is wavy and draped over her shoulders. When she sees me, she smiles her wide, white, dimpled smile. She looks as beautiful as ever. After 3 years of dating, I still adore her. Every time I see her, my heart skips a beat and I cannot wait until I'm with her. We have only broken up once in our 3 years together, but it was very brief, and once we got back together, we were better for it. It was all a misunderstanding, and afterwards, we were closer than ever. We've already talked about our futures together and how we want this to go the long haul. I hope it does, I honestly believe that me and Allison are meant to be together and will be together forever. She walks up to my car and knocks on the window, breaking my out of my daze. As a joke, I slide the window down instead of unlocking the door.
"Can I help you?" I ask.
"Yeah, my boyfriend is supposed to drive me to school today."
"Really?"
"Yeah." She says, beginning to chuckle.
"And what does the boyfriend get in return?"
"I don't know. Open the door and find out."
"Oh really?" I say with a smirk.
She just smiles her toothy smile and raises her eyebrows at me. I unlock the door and she steps in.
"Hi." I say.
"Hi." She says, leaning over and giving me a peck on the cheek.
"Is that all I get?"
"Don't get greedy on me." She says in a teasing tone. I puff out my bottom lip in a pouty way. She leans over and kisses me on the lips. She kisses me just enough to know that I will be satisfied.
"Happy?"
"Very." I say, smiling. She chuckles and I look at her, smiling as her smile widens.
"What?" She says.
"Nothing."
"What!" She says, lightly shoving my arm.
"It's nothing. You're just really pretty." I say, blushing.
"Seriously? We've been going out for 3 years. Get over it."
"I don't think I ever will." I say. She looks at me, her wide smile fading into a smaller, more serious one.
"Promise?" She says. The joke in her voice leaving.
"Promise." I say. She leans over and gives me a longer, more passionate kiss. When she breaks the kiss, she rests her forehead on mine and then looks up at me. Her smile grows again.
"I think it's time we get to school now."
"Ok." I say.
As we drive to school, we talk about only basic things. Classes, homework from last night, upcoming tests. Some gossip here and there. Allison gasped. "Did you see what Elena posted?"
"On what?"
"Instagram."
"No, what?" I ask. While I'm not that interested in drama, I do like to know what is going on with the people in the school.
"She just posted a couple pictures on Instagram."
"Of what." I say, getting slightly impatient.
"She posted a picture of her smiling, holding hands with, and kissing a guy."
"Who's the guy?" I ask.
"I don't know. I've never seen him before. He's cute though."
"Hey!" I say, although I'm not actually threatened.
"Don't worry. He's not any cuter than you." She says, tapping my nose and I smile.
"Does it say a name?" I ask.
"Her caption doesn't, but she tagged him. His name is Damon."
"That name sounds familiar. Does his profile say a last name?"
"Oh my god."
"What?" I ask. Suddenly scared it's my long lost brother or something.
"His name is Damon Salvatore. As in Stefan's brother."
"Oh no. That's where I knew it from."
"You knew he had a brother?!" She said incredulously.
"He mentioned it. They're not really close."
"Oh my god. I feel so bad for him. He really likes Elena then she goes off and dates his brother, then posts this."
"I know. He must be a wreck."
"Have you talked to him recently?"
"No. He's been kind of distant."
"Now we know why."
"Yeah. Listen, I know we have a date scheduled for tonight, and I would love nothing more than to take you out and get to spend more time with you... but I think I should cancel."
"I get it." She says. I remember that that's one of the reasons I fell for her. She's so understanding and easy going, but also so much fun. She literally is perfect in every way.
"I think I should spend some time with Stefan and see how he's doing."
"You're a good friend, Scott." She says, then she kisses me in the cheek and scoots closer to me, laying her head on my shoulder for the rest of the drive.
