Part 3

"Charlie, I'm so sorry you're seeing me like this." He laughed and put an arm around my shoulder.

When I had first called him, Charlie didn't hesitate to tell me that he was on his way and I could in fact stay at his house. My mother and Tate sat downstairs on a mahogany couch as I crept towards the door.

"Bella?" He turned to ask. Tates face curled in disgust when he saw not his precious daughter, but the girl whom his girlfriend had donned her baby, the slut. Mom began to look towards me but he stopped her. "Never mind babe. Must have been the wind." The room began to blur. I'm just like the wind, unwanted.

A honk blared from outside before I could agree with my mothers boyfriend. I hauled myself over to Charlies car and he was trying to get rid of my tears with jokes and small pity smiles. "At least you're wearing pants this time, Allie."

"True, I guess." Every second he laughed, my heart beat faster. "If you want me to tell you what happened, I can. I will."

"We are strangers... but if you're up to it? " He asked softly. "Maybe at least why I'm your only option."

"Oh that's easy." I snorted. "My mother thinks I'm a slu* and she can't deal with it. Oh also because I have hardly any friends." Confusion was clear in his grey eyes, along with a glint of sadness. We drove to his apartment in silence.

"I live alone." Charlie said, tilting his head so his expression was not seen.

"Good, so I can tell you stuff and no one will hear." Curiosity overcame me as we entered the lobby. "Why do you live alone?"

"Dad's in rehab and my mom died in what the police classify as an 'accidental death.' Car crash." He said stubbornly.

"You don't think it was accidental?" The tone of voice used made his opinion clear.

"I know for sure Allie. Enough about me, let's go inside. You can talk about what happened. Unless you want to get some sleep?"

"It's like seven man." I laughed.

"So? Some girls sleep at earlier times. Anyways, I was awake until around 4:00 this morning." Charlie pulled out a green key and unlocked the door.

"No nap for me, but maybe a sandwich or something lunchy."

"Okay." He returned minutes later with a box in his hands. "All I have are these. Haven't been grocery shopping all week, sorry." A single tear slipped out of my eye.

"We have a lot to talk about. Hand me the Fruit Loops Charles."

Charlies POV

She stuffed Fruit Loops in her mouth like she hadn't eaten in days. Though maybe she hadn't, considering her pale skin and the dark circles under her eyes. I stared into them.  Blue, like the ocean. Bloodshot but still beautiful. "So start at the beginning Allie."

"Well when two people..." I threw my hand over her mouth.

"No, no I know that part. Skip a few years." Allie smiled crookedly.

"Charlie." She spoke again when I nodded. "Promise you won't look at me like you did earlier. Don't act like you feel sorry for me."

"I promise that I'll try not to."

"Okay fine. Well it started back in grade 4 , really. Moving was painful and I was finding it difficult to make any friends. It's hard to remember what exactly happened but I knew Mark would be my best friend, forever."
