Angst | Falling | F/r
SECOND POV

○○○

You wake up with a start.

Tears stained your cheeks. Your breathe was taken away. Sweat dripped off your forehead. The trembling made the bed shake. You've had nightmares, but this was something else.

It felt so real. You felt like you were falling into the abyss, you felt like you were dying slowly. It all felt so real. One question replayed in your head: who was that voice?

You shake your head, getting out of bed. You walk out into the living-room, but found nothing but boxes. You had moved to a new apartment building a few nights ago. No one has finished unboxing yet, though. Too lazy, you guess.

Your parents were both at work this morning, so you had the place to yourself. You could either unpack or make friends with the other tenants. You went with the latter one. Your dad would rearrange everything anyway. Your way was too incompetent, as he would say.

You roll your eyes and get dressed. You wear a pair of black skinny jeans and an anime graphic T-shirt paired with some f/c slides. A nice yet comfortable outfit.

Leaving the apartment, you knock on several doors, greeting your neighbors. Most of them had weird vibes coming off them. One wore no pants and another was an absolute bitch. Ignoring the weirdness, you made your way to the last apartment on this floor.

Knocking on the door, you hear loud sounds from inside. It sounded like a TV show. Something you've heard, but couldn't name.

The door opens and you see a short kid. He or she looked around your age, but the mask he or she wore kept you from identifying them.

"Hi?" They spoke. Your heart skipped a beat. That voice. It was the voice. The voice from your dream. "Um, uh . . . hi," you said. "I-I'm y/n y/l/n, the n-new tenant." The person shifted from foot to foot. "Nice to meet you, y/n. Welcome to the building," they spoke. "I'm Sal Fisher."

So they're a boy. He's voice was muffled by the mask, it made it slightly hard to identify, but the name made it easier. Kind of.

"Well, I-I should go. S-see you around, Sal." With that you left. How is that the voice you heard in your dream? How did his voice end up in your dream? So any thoughts and questions roamed your head, you couldn't even think straight.

The elevator doors closed and you sighed heavily. Leaning on the wall, you closed your eyes. Can this get any weirder? The doors opened and in came a redhead. It was Todd as you remembered. He was nice, definitely nerdy, but nice.

"Uh, hi." You said. He smiled and gave a small wave. The elevator continued back down to the second floor. The silence was killing you. You hate silence. Why are elevators so awkward?

The door opened and you both stepped out. Your hands touched and you blushed. Mumbling an apologie, you made your way back to your apartment. About to open the door, you were stopped. A hand grabbed your own. It was Todd.

Todd wore a smile and had gentle eyes. "I was wondering if you'd like to hangout? A-at my place." You blushed and agreed. Nothing better to do anyways.

Making your way to apartment 202, you walked in silence. He opened the door, letting you in first. He led you to his room and smiled letting you enter first, again.

You walked in and stood in the middle of the room. "You can sit on the bed, if you want." He offered. "Sure. Thank you." You sat on the bed, smiling lightly. "So where you from?" He asked.

"Um, I'm from California." You answered. He nodded. "I'd like to visit there sometime. I hear they have great weather." He said. "They do! So many good days to go to the beach and just lay around."

The two of you talked, getting to know each other. He was quite calm and intelligent. He even gave a few fun facts about random things. You enjoyed them very much. Now you can tell your parents and they'll think you actually learned something. Because most of the time you'll reply to a question with: I have no clue or I don't know, check yourself. They find it quite irritating and quite frankly, so do you.

"You're really cool, Todd," you said. "Can't wait to do this again." Todd and you walked to the door and bid each other farewell.

After he closed the door, you started walking, only to bump into something. A person. You bumped into a person. "I'm so sorry." You apologized. The person looks up and you see it's Sal Fisher. You lend your hand to help him up, in which he accepts.

"It's all right. Thanks." His voice makes your heart jump again. You still don't know how his voice ended up on your nightmare. You hadn't met him before, so you were beyond confused.

Smiling, you bid farewell. Walking away you get your hand pulled back. Being taken aback you fall backwards. Sal catches you and holds you from behind. "Sorry, um, d-do you wanna hangout?"

Blinking repeatedly, you agree. His mask moves upwards and you smile. Is he smiling? You ask yourself. "Wanna go to my place?" You asked. He nodded and followed you down the corridor.

Opening the door, he entered. He examined the area. Boxes. That's what he saw. "Sorry about the mess. Haven't unpacked just yet." He laughs and shrugs. "I don't mind." You beckon him to follow you to your room, to which he complies.

In your room, you had your bed, a flatscreen TV and a bean bag chair. Pretty awesome if you say so yourself. There were still a few boxes, but not as many as in the living-room.

"Welcome to my humble abode. Please, sit, relaxe and enjoy." You said in a weird accent. He chuckled and sat on your bed. Bouncing slightly in nodded his head in approval. "Nice bounce. I like it. Flatscreen TV, I like it. Bean bag chair, a nice touch."

You giggled and sat in the bean bag chair. "Wanna talk or watch some TV? I have some movies or even some TV shows." He thought for a moment than answered with a movie.

You ended up choosing the movie Before I wake. It was supposedly a scary movie, but in your eyes it wasn't. Putting it in, you told Sal the idea of the movie. He hummed in content.

"Sound good." Sitting in silence, you watched the movie. Only once did the jumpscare get you. But overall, you didn't get too scared.

"That was really good!" Sal exclaimed. "I know right?! Glad you liked it." You smiled. "So, y/n, what do you do for fun?" he asked. "Um, not much. Does being a lazy ass count as something fun?" He chuckled. "Oh, yeah, definitely." The both of you laughed. Continuing with the conversation, you two got to know one another.

"You're a pretty cool person, y/n," he said. "I can see us hanging out more. But I should go before my friends think I'm dead. Bye, y/n!"

You waved as he left the apartment. He was nice. You were tempted to ask about the mask, but chose otherwise. It might be rude to do so. But you still had one question. Why is his voice in my dream?
