Emily’s Pov

Gazing out across the meadow from beneath the tree line I search for the form of my alpha. Not seeing her I frown and scan the area once again only seeing the rest of both packs mingling and napping.

She can’t possibly have gone back out to hunt

“What’s wrong?” a honey smooth voice says beside me.

Turning my head with a calm smile I make eye contact with my mate, a dark grey wolf with random patches of silver from the River Valley Pack. I was surprised when I first realized that my mate was a normal wolf; however, he isn’t just any normal wolf. He is the second beta, Cyclone.

“I was just wondering where Rook is.”

Cyclone tilts his head and also searches the open space full of wolves and Lycans. After a minute he shakes his head and nuzzles my ear.

“You don’t have to worry about her, she is crazy strong and very independent.” he chuckles.

I never knew that someone’s voice could affect me in such a manner that I want nothing more than drown in it. The only downside to my mate is that he is very narcissistic, he views himself as the first beta even though we both know that isn’t the case. He also tries to show off a lot. The first
time we both realized we were mates he practically strutted up to me like a rooster. It took everything I had not to laugh.

I’ll whip him into shape eventually

Teasingly I hit him with my tail before getting up and heading towards the River Valley Pack alphas to ask where my own alpha has gone. As I draw nearer to them I notice that Ivory, Rook’s mate, and the little black pup that my alpha adopted where also missing.

“Excuse me?” I hesitantly ask as I stop several paces away from the alpha male, Broach.

The rather small alpha turns his head to look at me in moderate surprise before he realizes that it is me, “Oh, it’s you. Emily, right?”

I nod my head and take a seat, my ears and tail respectfully lowered seeing as my alpha would be pissed if she knew I disrespected her mate’s brother.

I’d rather not get on a god’s bad side...especially when they can light themselves on fire

A cold shiver runs up my spine at the thought of Rook being pissed with me, I doubt my tiny body would be ableto withstand her punishment.

“Yes, that’s me. I was wondering if you knew where Rook went?”

The rather small and meek looking male frowns and flicks his ears irritatedly at the mention of my alpha which sends a flood of rage through my body. Trying to bite back the growl that wants to escape, I clear my throat and wait
for his answer.

“You’ll have to ask my mate, I don’t pay enough attention to Rook to know where she is at all times.” he answers with a hint of sarcastic attitude.

I wanna bite him so bad

Forcing a polite smile I turn away from him and walk away quickly so that I don’t have time to decide to turn back and take a chunk out of his throat. Searching for the alpha female, Willow, I pass by a group of the more prominent Lycan females.

“Emily.” one of them calls out to me.

Wandering over I offer the group a kind smile, “Hello, Tye. Mia.” I add nodding to her mate.

“Hiya, Emily!” says a pair of cheerful voices to my left.

Shuddering I turn my gaze towards my younger twin sisters, “Hey...Amelia...Charlotte.”

My sisters have always been trouble makers, especially Amelia. Charlotte has always been more quiet and only gets in trouble for going along with whatever her sister does. Since they were just pups barely able to run without tripping over their own paws they have been tormenting and pulling pranks on me.

Great Moon Goddess, please let them behave themselves
while they are here….

Tilting my head noticing that someone is missing, I look at the tall blonde wolf in question, “Tye, where is Anastasia?”

As far as I could tell the teenager was nowhere to be seen amongst the other Lycans.

“She went over to play with the wolf pups, I think her curiosity at how they play got the better of her.” she chuckles.

Maybe this whole pack blending isn’t as crazy as I
thought it would be...
