Chapter 12: Meeting Meiko

Meeting Meiko – chapter 12

*time skip to Saturday morning*

I hurry out of the door grabbing my bag and clicked my shoes to make sure they were in right.

“Ahh I’m so late” I say looking at the time on my phone, I wonder if Len is waiting for me right now? He’ll surely be angry at me! I walk faster over the crowd of people but suddenly get pushed to the floor by a stranger.

“Ouch” I say quietly. “Are you okay, madam?” I look up but the light was hard for me to see the face of this person. He holds out his hand and pulls me up from the ground. “t-thank you!” I bow. I really need to start moving. “Goodbye mister!” I say and keep on walking taking one more glance behind me but I noticed the man wasn’t there anymore.

Why is my leg in so much pain? I look down to see a huge rip in my stockings with blood coming out but I’m so late I don’t have time to go to the convenience store and buy new stockings.

I push past people to reach the train station; I see Len from far away and quickly run to him. “LEEEEEN!” I say in my short breath from running. “Baka why are you so late….and you’re leg….what happened?” His voice suddenly changes. “Someone pushed me down by accident…but it’s nothing to worry about.” I try to smile but he suddenly grabs my wrist and starts pulling me further and further away from the train station.

“H-Hey where are we going?” I look at his face to see he was serious. “Im not leaving until you fix your leg.” I look down at my leg, what a problem.

“But were going to miss the train!” I try to stop him but he was stronger than me. We went into a convenience store nearby and Len let me sit down while he went and bought a few things and brought them to a checkout then went to me. He kneeled down from where I was sitting and took out a band aid and gave me a new pair of stockings.

I could see him blushing as he puts on the band aid on my leg from the scratch. “I hope this is alright...” He says more calmly. “This is perfect, Arigatou!” I give him a big smile while I take of my ripped stockings and put on my new ones.

“Let’s go now, shall we?” This time he grabs my hand, in a more romantic way.

“Yes!” I say smiling as we head back to the train station.

“Ah the trains arriving right now due to a delay, we were lucky!” I say as he nods his head in relief.

We board on the train and take our seats. I look outside the window as the train suddenly starts moving.

“Sugoiii!” I say looking at the scenery; I slowly close my eyes having nice thoughts. “Miku…” I open my eyes, he blushes and looks away. “Ah nothing.” I look at him for a few seconds and give him a smile.

“May I ask if you would like any tea, or coffee?” “I’ll get a tea please.” Len says. “Me too!” I say afterwards. He nods and patiently walks to the other customers.

It’s so cold! I want to sit next to Len…I hadn’t realised that I had been staring at him, he noticed it too and half smiled. The man came back with two teas. I hold it in the palm of my hands to keep my hands warm from the cold. I look down at the tea’s reflection. I wonder what Meiko’s like…I hold the cup tighter.

“Miku…” He stands up from his seat and moves next to me. “L-Len do you mind if i…” he cuts me off. “Go ahead.” He says softly. I put my head on his shoulder still holding the tea and half close my eyes. “It’s like you can read my mind…somehow.” I say very quietly. I hear him laugh a little, I smile and finish the tea and slowly close my eyes.

30 minutes later

“Hey Miku don’t make me carry you out!” I slowly open my eyes to see Len’s face. “Ah sorry!” I say getting up from Len’s lap. Wasn’t I sleeping on his shoulder? We grab our bags and head out.

“This place….it’s so beautiful!” I say twirling around while the cherry blossoms petals fall around my surroundings. We walk to a chair and sit down while Len calls Meiko. I smile and take in the sight, I love this place already!

“Meiko, Were here!” Len says. I hear mumbling from the other side of the phone. “Okay, goodbye.” He hangs up the phone and places it in his jacket pocket. “She’s coming now.” He says his voice happier than usual. I smile once again and look down on the floor to see all the petals fill the spaces.

“There you guys are!” She says walking up to give Len a big hug, she looks at me and I quickly stand up. “My name is Hatsune Miku, Please take care of me!” I say bowing down. She laughs slightly. “You don’t have to be so formal around me; we have a lot to talk about anyway!” She says smiling and giving me a surprise hug.

Her brown hair lightly touches my face, and her dollish brown eyes look at me happily.

“Let’s go back to the house now; we don’t want to stand out here for too long we might catch a cold.” She smiles and turns around and starts walking. She was much friendlier than expected; I must have been….jealous?

We keep walking along; it wasn’t as crowded as it was where I am living at. “Meiko doesn’t live to far around here that’s why she always catches the train.” Len says grabbing my hand. I blush and smile.

“Were here!” She says loudly. She opens the door as a breeze comes through. So this is it.
